Imbedded

So get this...I imbedded myself in my lazy boy lounger and watched FOOTBALL all day...of course, I got up for essentials...and did get out and do the chores...I did sneak out and get my hairs cut...man, still have some blonde tips...but, for the most part, got to see a whole lot of collegiate ball...

I have this thing about old school and fast break football...those coaches who wallow in the older and olden style, are getting passed by the innovative blokes...like lightning fast...as the beauty of this game, is how you can and will play it...outside of the most difficult part of all, recruiting...is to figure the best way to get a win...er, to keep your job...which may be the same thing...some places have rich traditions of filling up the massive stadiums with alumni...and a smaller part for it's students...so...wooah....you better get yourself a W...and now...

One of the harder things to do, is follow a very successful regime...and go from fast break to old school....eegads...it's a ticket to being an OC somewhere else...as is the case in Florida...as the Gators got their rears beat at Miami....a no no...this can't ever happen in this day in age...check out the Orlando Sentinel site for some nice commentary....

On to the Duck/Virginia game...where the Cavs came off a big W over BYU...which in turn, goes back home and whups Texas...what?...so this is a viable team to play for the U of O...if you listened to closely to the "expert analyst", Ed Cunningham, you'd think that Oregon was barely on this planet...I'm being facetious....but he kept referring to the Ducks as being not as good as last year...this is the same bloke who ridiculed the hiring of Mike Leach at WSU (more on that later), as the worst hire ever...you see, ED, was a star center for the Washington Huskies, and he MUST carry baggage of hatred for his nemesis...oh yea, the Ducks won 59-10...as, nobody, and I mean nobody, plays more 2nd and 3rd teamers than the U of O...who got the entire 4th Q to themselves...Marcus Mariota, had a brilliant game...sorry, Ed, but it's true...

I kept mentioning the lack of points, er point spread, that Ohio St was getting versus the very old school Aztecs...it ended 42-7...and that was generous...as the Buckeyes took pity in the 2nd half...and did the Duck deal, of playing everyone...SDSU is in for a very long year...I know they have Hawaii on the schedule...so there is hope...oops, I think it is on the island...maybe no hope...

Michigan and Notre Dame...hey ED, I will say this...the Irish are not as good as last year...as fortuitous as the schedule ND had last year, it ain't gonna happen this time around....as the Wolverines dominated and won in the Big House...hate to say this, but it was boring...

The Beavs got their win...took it to Hawaii...who are turrible...and Crazy Horse predicted this...I don't think OSU is that bad...but. lordy, their O is so predictable...guess Riley must call the plays...right?...OK, then duh...still, it's a W...and on they go...

The mess in Vegas...did you see any of this?...UNLV hosting Arizona...who, much like UDub, is greatly improved....use the fast break...and have speedsters...the Rebs are mired in quicksand...it must be an impossible place to recruit...as I have watched them since Cris went to dental school there...and they just get worse...big blow out for Rich Rodriquez....you remember, the bloke who got run out of Michigan...

And I finished it off with the most sweet of all of them...USC and WSU...where do I start...you could say that the defensive lines were dominating the game....as the afore mentioned coach of the Cougs, Mike Leach, said after the game...or you could say that these two teams just may have the most pathetic offenses on the west coast...er, maybe, anywhere...as somehow...yup somehow...WSU got a FG late and held on to upset the Trojans...in LA...the booing was vociferous...chanting "fire Kiffen" so loud, that the TV mikes couldn't muffle it...of course, the cameras were held on him...you don't lose at USC...as he will find out very soon...

AND...I had to watch the Pads...and get this...they won...AGAIN...very good starting pitching...timely hitting...of course, the set up guy, Gregerson, gave up a tying run in the 8th...to force our hand...and the 2B Gyorko, hit a long fly to RF, that just carried out and WE WON...yippee!...not in last place for the time being...

Back to the lazy boy for the NFL...
