Grotesque

Morning kids...it's Monday, Aug 26, 2013...and the weekend was full of surprises...some great sport stories, some not so great entertainment ones...seven thoughts by CH...

1.
The MTV Video Music Award Show...the acts have become the most bizarre that you may actually see on live tv...from Gaga to Nu Direction  ( or is it One) to JT....not THE JT, but Justin Timberlake...where do I start...it's more of a freak show...first, the "President of Pop", Timberlake, as called by Jimmy Fallon...OMG...and his act went on FOREVER...he can dance...his voice is minimal...15 minute set...and Gaga...good lord, she changed outfits during her number...ending up in a bikini...eegads...BUT...the worst and most disgusting thing I have ever seen on a show....EVER...was the grotesque set by Miley Cyrus...she must have been on something...as no one, I mean NO ONE, would allow themselves to be seen like that...gyrating awkwardly...mimicking a pole dancer...sticking her tongue out constantly...it truly was the WORST performance I have ever seen...the worst...

2.  The Barclays...much like the British Open...out of nowhere came a dude to win it...Adam Scott...posted his score of 11 under...and waited for the rest of the blokes to try to tie him...no one did...Lefty put up a magical finish to come close...Tiger, battling the back tweaks, missed by an inch...high drama in Jersey...very cool...as Stevie laughs, yet again...

3.  The Jets...staying in NY...why do these blokes get so much air time?...as their coach Ryan, creates such a stir...as he actually went to his number one QB in the latter part of an exhibition game...to get a WIN...what?...and the QB Sanchez, got hurt...how does this coach keep his job?...what a mess...and only in NY, right?...

4.  The Pads...OK, I have been suffering a bit too much...and this time they go 14 innings...what?...forever...squander countless tries at putting the game away...lack of clutch hitting...duh...to be fair, so did the Mets...so let's give the pitching it's due...2 runs...and the winner?...the unlikely knock by Nick Hundley...a day off...whew...by the way, SD dropped Volquez...he'd had enough chances...oops, my bad...it was 15 innings!...whatever...ANOTHER ERROR!..it was against the Cubbies...man, I have lost it!...

5.  The weather...let's see we are in August...as the rains, and winds, and thunder, and lightning...have hit...all over the US of A...even down here...and have run up the desert from the south...just east of us...all the way to Vegas...and now....it will work it's way to the west and we will get some of it...like I've said prior, we have only seen lightning once in 6 years here...and the fires...the west coast has had it's share...the one in Yosemite Park is devastating...

6.  Filner...I brushed over this quickly...he resigned...and went to the mike and said HE was the victim...that he was the one that was unjustly persecuted...by the media and the opposition...wait, there was a coalition of both parties against him...an absolute joke...

7.  Del Mar...OK, I have gone but once...yesterday was the Pacific Coast Classic...and the fav, Game on Dude, won in a breeze...million dollar race...of course, I tried to beat him...and lost...sometimes, I wonder my logic...yet, I told everyone that wanted to know...he was a lock...

And that's the way it is...in this cloudy am...

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
