Friday Foibles

Whew...the Ducks got it together and wore down the defensive line of the Golden Bears...subsequently got the win by...28 points...and the line was 24...and, my oh my, how the D turned away Cal late in the 4th to preserve the point spread...oops, the win...very curious...but the real deal is...the loss of nationally famous LaMichael James...dislocated his arm on a very gruesome play in the 2nd half...it's part of the game, yet still a big blow to the Ducks and...him...

Alright, I did watch the final game of the Tiger/Yankee match up...it was a beaut and yup, I called it...Detroit had a bit more pitching...well, a lot more...and eeked out the W in NY...Cliffy is happy and off they go to meet the Rangers...my feeling is that they are much better than Texas...tonight's games in the NL are interesting as the east coast pundits want Philly and Milwaukee bad...real bad...

I spent a goodly portion of yesterday...golf...watching...as Tiger was followed by the Golf Channel...the entire round...as he struggled...still... to 2 over...in his group was an amateur from UCLA, 19 years old...who shot a 2 under...Tiger just doesn't have his mojo...misses putts he has rammed in the past...apparently, in the way past...

The latest chapter in NCAA alignment is the schools moving conferences on their own...whatever seems to make them the most money, off they go...take the plight of TCU..they agreed to going to the Big East last summer...wait...the Big 12 sends out an invite to them...and it's a better deal, so they think...and they will announce that that's where they are going...what a mess...and HBO just ran a piece on the Bowl Games...you must catch it...where the $ is going to charity so they can go tax exempt...the real deal is that 2% of the money goes to charity...they announce it at 25%...what a racket...I'm telling you the wrap must come off the BCS and all it's tributaries...there is corruption galore and it must be exposed...and stopped...

Back to beisbol...the White Sox signed as their manager a guy who has never managed before...former WS star, Robin Ventura...kind of sounds like what the NBA does...hire former players and hope...I've always said, that beisbol is the easiest thing to coach...everyone pretty much does the same thing...I digress...

Not a cloud in the sky today...yeh!

Wow! its time for me to catch up on your banter. I see Wed. you made Fox News like statements about me. Totally erroneous and self promoting. I'll let that go as comic relief.
Went to the Duck game last nite and have some thoughts. As a coach you never really see what happened untill you see the replay of the game about five times, so my observations are limited in nature. The Ducks couldn't run the ball to the right. LaMichaels speed was their only first half offense. Darron Thomas either cant read the zone option or they have schemed it so he doesn't read the D. tackle. The Secondary is young and very questionable. What did Cliff Harris do to keep him off the field this long?
LaMichael says he'll be back next week. He relocated the elbow himself on the field before the trainer got there. We'll see.
This is a young team that will get better.
You've got to quit watching reality shows meant for women.

Well, Snooki...you watch what is good...the sitcoms are sooo poorly written anymore...so it's reality shows for us.
By the way, how was the weather last night?
I thought that the Ducks were saving their keeper...thinking they didn't need it. Revised their thoughts at half and...well you know the rest...
Defensively...poor tackling in the 1st half kept Cal in the driver's seat...
