Play On?


This entire 'back to school' thing has had enormous impact on the numbers...of people infected with Covid 19....how can it not?...protect all you can, it's a mere disaster waiting to happen...especially in the colleges and universities...where many are boarded up together...if you live in one of their zones, YOUR life is affected...yet, the money speaks...the 'leaders' say to OPEN THE SCHOOLS!...almost a death march...apparently, youth can fight the virus...but, the family that they are in, can't...just another example...

Coach K...the hoops boss from the elite school in North Carolina...you know it, Duke...has suggested that perhaps, the basketball season shall stop...cease until...well, the virus is in check...some others balk, calling his comments team based...cuz,, he might have an inferior team this year...how many games have been canceled, postponed, or rescheduled due to one or both of the teams, have had too many players or coaches...with the virus?...

Would you send your son or daughter away to school in these times?...or shelter up and wait this out?...

Is the vaccine imminent?...the FDA approved an 'emergency' release to the Pfizer product yesterday...not exactly know what that means...I can assume that the health workers will start their process of inoculations...and, the word, er, rumor, is that the rest of us...will get the OK, by next week...I keep asking this...where is the Moderna product?...suggested by the powers to be, well, Dr Fauci...that you and I will get one of them...when?...that is the burning Q...

BUT, in the interim...we 'PLAY ON'...the games continue...in hoops, I watched a crazy hoops one...where the always down, Portland Pilots, beat the OSU Beavers...in Corvallis...interesting, as the PP team is coached by the former Blazer, Terry Porter...listen kids, it's all about the players...and he has recruited some good ones...this was no fluke...they are not down, but UP!...

The always entertaining football game, matching the Dawgs of Washington and the UO Ducks...is a no go...Covid...so many players and coaches, to elude the virus...it's a near miracle to be able to field a team...right?...which leads me to the notion of a national championship playoff...ridiculous...play what you can, and call it a year...but a champ?...get real...

And...the continuance of brilliant coaching and winning ways of the SD Aztecs hoops...went into Arizona St and beat the Sun Devils...the red and black, play terrific defense...if you like all out play, try to catch them on the pixels...

OK, let's go elsewhere...

3 more days until the Electoral College does it's thing...and we have closure...as Rachel told Ross on 'Friends'..."and now we have closure, Ross"...but, insert donny for Ross...man, he is backed into a corner, and is flailing about...kicking, screaming, accusing, calling, intimidating anyone he can...at the end...of his term...where is the rail?...

Snooki's song of the day...'The Christmas Song' by Nat King Cole...hey, I had a CD player that held 300 in the bloody thing...that quit working...I have been spending time trying to find the jackets for those...the connection here, is that I had a section for Xmas Cd's...one being the aforementioned song by Snooki...

This new album of Taylor Swift...I am listening to it as I am writing this am...'Evermore'...it's quite good...has an acoustic feel to it....and she must have used a lot of background from the computer...kinda fun, kids...

I leave you with this today...executions...should we in the USA still have them?...we do...as witnessed by last eve in Texas...tell me yes or no...and why you think the way you do...

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
