Stuffy Golf

Back in '98 there was this fledgling golf pro from Stanford...no, not Tiger...that had this debilitating injury that made him use a gulp...golf cart!...to compete with the rest of the blokes on the PGA Tour...well now, it became a huge deal to the purists...like even the legend, Jack Nicklaus...to say "no!", he has to walk like everyone else... and yet his leg injury was beyond the occasional thing...this issue went all the way to the Supreme Court!...yup, who ended up giving that pro the right to use the cart...

As time wore on, so did his leg...and so did his game...bounced around a bit, ie. the Nationwide Tour...then he quit competitive golf altogether...ended up as the golf coach at the University of Oregon...where he is to this day...AND...he went out and tried to qualify for the US Open...and MADE IT!...and now, all the rumble about the golf cart garbage resurfaced...and the Golf Channel debated it...again...and one of the hosts actually said it was an advantage...boo...

This story is about Casey Martin...and it's a good one...I think it's good...

Where is Kooz?...I mean Kevin Kouzmanoff...the elite 3B of the Pads when we first got here...he also has bounced around since...traded a couple of times and now is property of the Kansas City Royals...sounds crappy, huh...property of...anyway, he is now playing in AAA baseball in Omaha...and starts everyday...and get this, has zero home runs!...what?....their nickname is kind of cool..."the Storm Chasers"...

Speaking of them Pads...they travel to Seattle and again...are prohibitive underdogs...especially tonight...as the human punching bag, Richards the pitcher, will probably get ripped again...his ERA is becoming legendarily bad....but, the real issue is, can SD score some runs?...

Good morning all, from the great state of Oregon...this whole trip is about FRIENDS!...meeting up with peops we have been with over our years in the PNW...and for Boss's reunion....the opening act was a combo party of the two at this pad, a bar, called Johnny's...simply said, it was fun... The stories were there, the faces remained the same...and it tickled moi, that so many FRIENDS showed up...unfortunately, I did not get enough time to talk to all, please forgive me...when you go back some 60 years, my memory does fade a tad...well, and so does their's...ha ha...believe me, it was worth the trip... Boss was one of the belles of the ball...yes, she still looks great...you know that....well, the rest of her class did not know that, until last eve...she was flitting (flirting) about so...which made me smile...and that is only the beginning of it...the REAL reunion is tonight...one of my FRIENDS reminded me that is the gals reunion...which I think is most reunions...it is for...

When the thesaurus ran it's new version...it highlighted the word 'oration'...and there it was ... President Barack Obama...and then there is more..... see...Michelle Obama ...these two have the fundamental prowess of giving speeches...at the right time...at the right place... No better example of this, than last night at the DNC...each were marvelous...of course ...it's what people, special people, like these two...do...carry a message across the Nation...that we all can not only understand, but agree with... For seemingly years, the Horse has said...that if Michelle O wanted to be in the White House, AGAIN...this time as the President, and not the wife...she could ...however, for right now...she is supporting the right choice...for this time of the history of our country....
