It's been a good long while that something big has happened to the PGA...sure, the other guys get their chances, and actually get to win, as Tiger has been injured and all...BUT...no, this is real different...out of the depth of the ever expanding youth golf out there, comes this bloke from Ireland (Northern), Rory McIlroy...he's been in contention for about 2 years now...he wins this one by eight...and the similarities start reigning down with him and the aforementioned Tiger...and the ovations and chants for him in Maryland as he devoured the course and humbled the field, was just the indication how hungry the golf public wants a new hero...well kids, you got one...

This topic just keeps going down and down and down...the pitiful Padres...it was but a couple of weeks ago that the pundits said they couldn't win at home, well now they can't win on the road, either...and they are playing bad baseball...striking out way too often as average and below average pitchers have career games against them...and as the free fall continues the management will start chopping guys...first it will be the hitting coach, as I have said way too many times, there has been more of them here in the last 4 years than any where else...then the manager...BUT...the problem lies in the guy who put this ensemble together...the GM has done an atrocious job...you can't make chicken soup out of....NOBODY makes mistakes like this team...NOBODY!

Let's see one positive and one negative...not bad, huh...just the truth...
As we were shopping yesterday in the Fashion Valley Mall, one thing that stuck out over all else...the crowds that infested the Apple Store...OMG!  It was elbow to elbow...and you say there is a recession?  As you know, there isn't any give in their prices and yet the people flock there...OK, it's a great product they produce...I have a Mac, an ipad, but no iphone...ONLY 'cuz I have a plan that Verizon has me on that makes me stay with the Droid, for a bit longer...by the time I'm ready, the new one will be out...
And now the Pads go to Boston...close your eyes...Wade LeBlanc throws against the Sox...the best versus the worst...the quotes in today's Trib by the Pads...OMG!  Admit when you are screwing up...that doesn't happen with this group...
