Happy Birthdays

It's my good friend's birthday, Laurie Snook....and I say happy birthday to her...but it got me a thinking...just when did this type of festivity first begin...so I did the normal seeking online...and, of course, it is controversial...the different faiths take credit and pretty much say it started before the birth of...wait, not all believe in this...OK, I say we all need special days in the year...and why not the birth date?  But, there are those of you out there that don't want their ages posted...so, is there a time to stop the celebrations?  And if you go by the extravagance of the Housewives of Beverly Hills...stop it...I know I look forward to it...so this Hoff, is for you, Ms. Snooki...

Mark you calendar...get ready to download your Kindle...get on ibooks for your ipad...tomorrow is the day...the release of the expose of your gurl, Sarah, is hitting the market...and the rumor is, it's not too flattering...geez, is that a possibility?

And now it's a closed door meeting for the Padres after their latest debacle...a 3 game sweep at home for the Mariners...where the awful SD'ers scored a whopping 1, ein, uno, one, yet, yup, one run in THREE games...as the journey continues on for the most futility in the history of the game...well, Bill Walton, that may be a bit severe...as the time gets closer to actually bring up the young guns to salvage the season...you see, it's all about the $...if the GM brings 'em up too soon, they have to pay more...and you, the fan, must keep the faith...well, Padre's brass...you need to do your job and get the right guys in here, so the public will watch the team...it's now a guessing game, who first to get fired?

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
