You're Fired!


So have you been following the latest version of Celebrity Apprentice? Donald Trump has whittled the "stars" down to 2 lucky soles to vie for $ to be given to their favorite charities...Rubber faced Joan Rivers and selfish poker lady Annie Dukes...
Just what is the appearance fee for these "stars?"...what ever it is it couldn't have worked worse for Melissa Rivers (rubber faced, too) as she came out looking like a spoiled brat, paranoid, and generally a mess...what on earth were the Chicken of the Sea board members doing not taking Clint Black's jingle version? Which leads me to, Annie going off on how great she is for out dueling Clint in the jingle contest...gag...Annie Dukes you are fired for being more obnoxious than the rubber faced River's conglomerate...
The Padres completed their 4 game sweep...by the Dodgers and are now in a downward spiral trying to find an offense...2 of the hitters (BGiles and Kouzmanoff) are the biggest drags of the group...according to the Trib's downer writer, Tim Sullivan, there is no hope for the Pads...I think there are moves to be made to right this ship as I have discussed in earlier blogs...for now, I have to say...Manager Bud Black and writer Tim Sullivan, you are fired!

Watched two sporting events Saturday that I never watch. Horse racing and boxing. The Kentucky Derby was a great race and totally unexpected. Really enjoyed it. Went to freinds that nite and they had pay per view fight of Pacquiao and Hatton. What a fight! Manny P hit Hatton as hard as I have ever seen someone get KO'd. 2nd round and the ref didn't even count. I thought the guy might not recover. He did. About 12 people attended this bar b que and fight. After the fight a one of the guests picks up a guitar and entertains the rest of the nite. Buddy Holly and Elvis impersonator that was very good. Who Knew?

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
