BREAKING NEWS!...not to simplify what that USED to mean...it was something tragic that happened...almost always on the tele screen...when the present show was interrupted...by that awful message...and a TV announcer would emerge and give us all the sad release...rarely, it was a positive one...there was a shooting, a death, a disaster, a_____, whatever, that gave most of us...chills...
Now, not so much...as so many people depend on their computer, cell phone, you know, the web net to give them info...and the BREAKING NEWS is not as dramatic as it once was...it covers all angles nowadays...most of the NEWS (?) is not that big a deal...it is just BREAKING...ha ha...I will say this, if it does happen on the tele, it is usually the former...except on CNN, which leads with the 2 words much too often, de-energizing what they meant in the past...
OK, there has been BREAKING NEWS...a mass shooting in NYC at a subway stop...what is real, is that at least 13 people have been shot...there has been a detonating device found (at least one), the rumor is...real sketchy at this point what the reason was...as the numbers of shootings continue throughout our country on a weekly basis...no commentary here, just the facts, kids...

The Country Music Awards were last eve...the never ending set of award shows that the genre has...not so keen about the awards given, but I like to hear the music....I am obviously not a fan of the present pop music that is out now...but, country keeps on a giving...what got me, was that one of the hosts of the show, Kelsea Ballerini, was not on site, the rumor (but not announced so) was that she tested positive for Covid...at the same time, over on CNN, Anderson Cooper, did, too, and missed his normal nite time gig...which brings me to this...I am hearing that there is a resurgence in the virus...I am also reading that it is the people who have not got their full vaccine shots...hmmm, is this true?...
The Padres started game 1 in SF...hearts were not left there, as we won it...4-2...it is early, but we look to have something going on...beisbol is such a loooooong season, and for sure, no better phrase than many coaches use...'don't get too high, don't get too low'...in beisbol yes, in football no...what has surprised me the most?...how strong our starting pitchers have been...maybe AJ knows what he is doing?...naw...
Talk about mismanagement...the oh so lost LaLa Lakers...they had a horrific season...duh...the makeup of that geritol ladened squad, was a bust from the get go...the cheapest remedy, was to fire the coach first...who guided them to the CHAMPIONSHIP 2 years back...'what have you done for me lately?'...of course, the over the hill 'star' Russ Westbrook, chimed in "don't know what the problem he had with me?"...it's all abut Russ...I can answer that for the fired coach...Westbrook, you can't shoot, you throw the ball away way too much, you don't play defense, and you are selfish...anyhoo...the list of possible coaches have been listed most everywhere, anyone who gives a damn...I keep thinking 'who'd a want this?'...
What is with this trend of hoopsters...they react to what the fans are saying...they have been trained, er coached, from the very beginning to ignore the hecklers...then, I realized they have only played, at most, one year of college ball...and have not been really coached on that part of growth...maybe in high school ball, but I can't recall any of that...guess they are on the same level as comedians, having to deal with people who don't like their act...
The Horse was back at it on the links...egads, he is back...to being a spaz...talking about comedic episodes...the Boyz had resorted to laughing behind my back, and now...right in front of moi...been about 3 weeks of foo debauchery on the course...to follow the Lakers lead, I would fire my coach, if I had one...
American Idol...as I repeat myself...I had seen no potential star in this season's mix...until, last eve...Kenedi somebody...and then, lo and behold, BREAKING NEWS...a spliced in part of the show, came the host Ryan Secrest, who announced that she had withdrawn from the competition...citing 'personal reasons'...what the heck?...she was the front runner...now I know that the contestants are bound by AI's control for a year, I think...perhaps, some record company snatched her up before she was part of that...or, I dunno...
Filled my tank yesterday at $5.69 for a gallon of regular petrol...what is it in your state?...Cali keeps promising that they are gonna do some type of kickback, or tax break...but, NOPE, nuttin yet...
Going on a Cosmo trip this week...ending up at Santa Barbara...to see the kids for Easter weekend....we are going to hit Walmart for some fake eggs to take, and some fake candies, and some fake grass, and some fake everything...also, we need some real stuff to take on the trip...no better camping needs than Sam's...hey, we have some very expensive new batteries, we need to test out...too...do they still make 'Peeps?'...oh yea, and the Cadbury Creme Egg?...
Speaking of eggs...never forget this...when back in me teaching days...we were all having our lunches...and the teacher clown (yes, just like the kiddies) grabbed an egg from one of the other teachers brown sack, and 'cracked' it on his head as a joke (?)...yup, it was not hard boiled....and it slowly drooped over the unsuspecting stoolie...how he didn't pulverize the perpetrator I will never know...
Finally, I am hearing that the Lakers might make Mark Jackson as their coaching target...this I could see...he has been out of it for awhile...doing the commentary thang...he would take no crap off of the elite players...and for goodness sakes, he must be in control of who he has on his team...if not, pass it by, Mark...
