Game Day

I admit it, I am more than a casual fan, when it comes to collegiate football...I lurve the pageantry of it all...the pomp and circumstance...geez, I have no idear what that means...the life of the schools that seemingly come alive...the colors, the exuberance, the loyalty....for not only the students, the faculty, the alumni, but the fans in general...and it's throughout the Nation, kids...

I'm a bit miffed that the inaugural game for the University of Oregon is being played at a neutral site...with the Auburn Tigers, who, too, lose a chance at a home game...boooo...it's being played at Jerry Jones' Stadium in Arlington, Texas...for you who have followed me like forever, I am NOT a fan of it...whoever designed the place, must have been on something...the home of the once America's team, the Dallas Cowboys...hmmm, the place is much much closer to Alabama, so, figure the crowd will be mostly Auburn...

The betting line has been eerily stable at 3 1/2 favoring the Tigers...so be it...as much is riding on the matchup for both schools...and I do think it is the premier game of the weekend for college football...anyhoo, I will don my finest Duck stuff today, and cheer on a big WIN!...hopefully...just read a bit more....from a self proclaimed expert on all the games...really...he says that the massive line difference of Auburn + the fact that the Head Coach is back calling the plays...spells DOOM for the Ducks...Tip off at 4:30 on ABC...BREAKING...the line has risen to FOUR...

Over at the Q, yes, it actually still stands...SDSU hosts Weber St...the Trib has been covering the Aztecs really well...and I think that this team just might be the real deal in the Mountain...like, we have mountains here...so much depends on the QB in the system that is run...last year, wasn't very good...

Beaver Nation was alive last nite in Corvallis, Oregon...as they got kicked around pretty good by another OSU, ah, Oklahoma St...who are, more talented...there were many bright spots for the home OSU...offense and their special WR looked mighty fine, at times...however, the defense was...atrocious!...maybe, just maybe, the visiting OSU is really good...hmmm, didn't I say this same thing last season?...I did make mention to a very annoying thing that the home loudspeaker does at their games...when it is 3rd down, they play this noise...sounded like a cow...was informed it is a chainsaw...whatever, get rid of it...ah, one more...2/3rds into the 3rd stanza, the student section of the Beavs, was near EMPTY!...

Shifting over to the mighty Padres...up against the Giants and Madbum...eww...were in it, until lil Mgr Green trots out lefty Erlin...who got hammered and the game was over...why oh why, he is still in the bigs, defies moi...ah, either one of them...stop it, Horse...

And for the rest of the world...

That Atlantic hurricane, Dorian, is on the move to the eastern coast...mandatory evacuation for Cocoa Beach, so I have learned...the experts are not sure where it will hit, maybe even north of Florida in the Carolinas...they keep estimating it as either a 3 or a 4...regardless, a major blow...

The personal assistant to Trump...Madeleine Westerhout...who got the heave ho from her boss...the whole thing got a little bit more interesting as to why...hey, her desk was just outside of Donny's office...and she fended off unwanteds....the rumor is that she got a little tipsy and divulged some Trump mannerisms...he caught wind of it, and fired her...you KNOW what's coming next...just WHAT did she say?...stay tuned, it will ALL come out...the first parts were embarrassing, if TRUE...

Quinnipiac University...out of Hamden, Connecticut...ran a poll...they often do...of the upcoming election...2020...and the results are discouraging for the present inhabitant of the White House...in fact, he is getting hammered...HAMMERED!...by the top 5 Demo candy men and women...ie, Mayor Pete, too....like by 9% for him...leader is Joe Biden by a wide margin....how will Trump respond to this?...a fake U?...

Now, for those who are within shouting distance...

We have been using and staring at our gas cooktop, which came with this building...like 14 years or so ago...looks beat up...so did a bunch of investigating on the newbies out there...on the web net...and in the stores...you know the usuals, Lowes, Home Depot, Costco...interesting is that they all had the virtual SAME sales prices...trapsed out to Lowes...stood for a good 20 minutes or so, with no help...ah, there were others, waiting, too...decided to go to where we got our new dishwasher...Aztec...terrific service...the same prices...and we are good to do...so, you fancy people who live in our upper floors at the home, we are one up on ya...

Cosmo is about to make a roadie...and get this...we are doing a boondogging...if needed...up the coastline...just to make sure that everything works prior to the jaunt to the Grand Canyon...

Today, we get our first shipment of Freshly...packaged food for 3 dinners...came highly recommended by a dude in the home...one of them fancies...I will document for ya'll...

I do get aggravated when I send a message and get NO REPLY!...whatever...

We have been in the pool 4 straight days...our new record...you have seen the movie 'Cocoon?'...yup, that's us...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
