The New Year


Well, we weren't what we were...in 2024...as the Oregon Ducks fell to the much deserving Ohio St Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl...phase II of the CFP...led by the former Duck, and current OC of OSU, Chip Kelly...the scarlet and white ran over, around and threw the ball with precision strikes...seemingly confusing the UO D...preparation?...or, just a fired up team...we just didn't have answers...all season long, I have been worried about our play calling...yesterday, was one of them...?...BUT...you can't disregard the entire year...this team, I did not think would get this far...did though...and this is a chilling thought, it reminded me of the very first Lanning coached UO team when he first arrived in Eugene...a thumping 49-3 loss to Georgia...after that loss, things went really really we'll.....let's hope the same happens this time...

In the other playoff game...Arizona St played their hearts out...in an OT loss to the highly heralded Texas Longhorns...there was ONE play that may have been the backbreaker for the Sun Devils...in the latter stages of regulation...a very clear 'targeting' call was missed...a timeout...and the refs  had time to look at it...and determined it was not....WHAT?...if that is not, then there shall be no rule...the most egregious non-call I have ever seen...yes, the worst...and I think that the...wait, who does the overseeing of the refs?...something needs to be done...there has to be $ on the line...and in someone's pocket...it was, THAT bad...

Due to the killings in N'orleans, the final CFP playoff game was rescheduled to today...Notre Dame vs Georgia...hmmm...all the teams that have had byes, have lost thus far...(thanks to Coach Joe for the reference) so, does that mean that the Irish will win?...it is the team I have picked...BTW, a shooting this past evening in Queens...many shot...what is going on?...

Are there other things going on?...college football certainly has the stage right now...we are continuing on with 'Disclaimer'...yes, it is raunchy at times...but, the story line is dang good...Apple +...be warned though...

Tomorrow the House is going to begin the vote for Speaker...Mr Peepers, has the inside loop...endorsed by trump...+ they don't want to go 14 rounds of voting like they did with McCarthy...hmmm, Gaetz is gone, so it should be a much easier vote...Peepers has been hound dogging orange for a good 6 months...rumor has it that he is the bloke who goes on the Mickey D run...for the Big Macs...

Poured myself another cup of Joe...walked onto my deck...and noticed people walking...on the road, and NOT the sidewalk...why?...no homeless in the Marina...so what gives?...

Resolutions...?...nope...just keep doing what we been doing...hey, what's with the prices of eggs?...and I can't figure this out...catsup, or ketchup...is at a very high price right now...yet, sliced or cubed (stewed) tomatoes in a can...are a buck each...is it the sugar?...salt?...

99% of all posts on the free wheeling web net sites...are about sports...mostly negative shots at whatever...while I am at it, no alum should be doing an analyst network TV game of his old school...Kirk who?...

Not mine, but a query nevertheless...you have 2 coins that add up to 30 cents...one is not a nickel...what are they?...

I have 12 eggs left...the carton cost $6....50 cents an egg...an egg sandwich from Costco, the frozen ones...are 8 for $10....it may be cheaper, now to buy those...you know, add the bacon, cheese, and croissant...

This year feels like the last one...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
