Curious History


Good morning, all...as we waddle thru this ever eventful month of December...the Christmas one...have noticed more and more trees going up around the hood...with so many people in all these high rises a living...it makes for such a grand scene...the season...nothing like it...every single year...

In my penchant for history...which I didn't have whence I was schooled...seemingly too busy to pay attention...to where, what, and why things are the way the are...or were...the Horse has been intrigued by the after the WWII where abouts of the many Nazis...once they were defeated...

There was a name given for their escape out of Germany...'ratlines'...what a name, right?...this can be found in the book 'The Real Odessa'...which I have ordered...it has been reported that many of the Nazis were shipped to, and or flown, to South America...the numbers are hazy...but, most likely in the 10,000 range...the bulk went to Argentina...in order of numbers, then Brazil, followed by Chile...ah, ABC...odd, right?...MOST settled in the new country, and were never hunted or found...as the presidents of those countries were Hitler sympathizers...a supposed 'safe haven'...

One would think, that if they had the means to get out...they probably were high ranked officers...with cash...and worse...were probably filled with murderous pasts...I do know that some were targeted by Israel SS...and were found...my guess, is most have now passed on...on their way to Hell...

More history of another...we settled on the Hollywood of the past...'Sunset Strip'...a flick, er docu, on when it started...and the past was quite juicy...from the Golden Age of Hollywood to the present day youthful vibe there...back in the 70's we set sail on a nite on the Strip...stopping at 'Sneaky Pete's', were downtrodden that the 'Whiskey a Go Go' was closed for the nite...and the topper, was the search for music at the infamous 'Tower Record Store' on Sunset Strip...a humongous collection...fun memories...

Nowadays stuff...

The BSBCS...it's called something else now...but, I keep the original...CFS?...something like that...this last week of games, mostly conference champ games...may change the final 12 in...with the number at 12, the conference champ games should be abolished...the Horse says...no reason for them...going to that number, has created more stress...you know, the reason for just a few in, was to make sure the players didn't miss too much school...ha ha...like they go, anyway...which is a totally other story, all in itself...now, it's all about how much money a school, er the football program, can funnel cash to a player...the NCAA, should change it's name to NAFA...non accountable football association...

The Lakers got beat by 40!...yes, you read that right...actually 41, by the Heat...might there be trouble brewing in that locker room?...couldn't happen to a better organization...ha ha ha ha....

The Pack at the Lions today...this is good stuff, kids...NFL...Detroit fav by 3 1/2...at home...hmmm....seems like a no brainer, who to bet your quids on...

Ducks hoops...both won...the guys over USC, in LA, and remain undefeated...the gals over WSU and are on a resurgence...Saturday, the football looks to keep it's untarnished record just that way...oh yea, and for those who follow this (Snooki), the football team has the 2nd ranked best recruiting class in the Nation...!!!...right behind Texas...

Foggy outside me window...not sure if I have heard them planes land or take off this am...

A broad daylight killing of a CEO in downtown Manhattan...and the killer vanished...might this be the wave of the future?...somethings happening here, but what it is ain't exactly clear,  there's a man with a gun over there, A-telling me I got to beware...Buffalo Springfield...

I still do not have a handle on what is going on in South Korea...is this good or bad?...sounds bad...

So...manana we get on board the Amtrak...Cosmo gets a rest...make our way to the kids...we are leaving the driving to the train guys...thus, I may or may not post...so, bear with me...on the other hand, we are so excited to see the kids and the grandkids...

Thanks to so many people who are reading the Horse...my numbers have increased almost as much as the Bitcoin has...well, that's an exaggeration...I hope I energize your day...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
