The Hype

For the past week, it was the Republicans turn to indulge the  country into their HYPE...couple that with the near tragedy of an assassination...it worked for awhile...until the candidate himself, got up to speak...to accept the party's nomination...he turned it into a rambling, incoherent, seemingly 2 hours of self propaganda...that bored even the most rabid Magas...this is what you got, Repubs...not sure if you really buy into it, but it's all yours...now, YOU have to convince the rest of the country....that it is worthy...

Thinking about that word...HYPE...it's what triggers most all ideas, merchandise, teams, politicians...the list goes on...there are companies that that is what they do...find ways to promote, entice, lure, CONVINCE...YOU...to buy into what ever they are selling...every 4 years, there are dudes and dudettes, that is what they do for a living...take a Roger Stone...been doing it since Nixon...I kid you not...that will come up with catchy slogans, colors that sparkle, ads that knock you out...whatever it takes...

Many of them...are shock value...like negatives...that they dig deep in the company's past, people's personal past...find the skeletons...what they have said in the past...done in the past...then, dramatize it, with ads...this trump system goes one step further...makes up things...lies, and then throws it out for the public to see and hear...fact checking is now a joke...you can generally say anything about anyone, or it's business...and there are no repercussions...it's true...the only truth there is...that often, there is NO TRUTH...

Tidbit about the assassin...makes no diff on age...BTW...20 years old...the school shooters, often are younger than that...this guy apparently (?) flew a drone over the site he was to use as his field of terror...hours before his attempt...unfortunately, there are people like this...too often...waiting to do the same...woah to be a politician...er, and a, celebrity...it seems like there is never enough protection...ESPECIALLY, that now most anyone can buy an AR-15...

Let's go over the pond, and talk about the Open...Tiger didn't have it...most didn't...them pot bunkers are dreadful...we played in a T in Vegas...that was simulating a links type course...often you can't see them...damn if that ball doesn't plummet right in...like a sink hole...bloody bastards...

The Friars...back in action (?)...were down 1-0 in the 8th...and the one thing the manager can do...is replace pitchers...which this one did not do, and the game went out of hand...quickly...gave up 6 in the inning...and that was it...this one, all bone head managing...hello...

The W has a different version of an all star game...the Olympic team, all from the W...play the best of the rest...well, the rookies...for the most part...should be interesting...that's today...hope to see some of it...Caitlyn vs Sabrina...

This new Covid attack...how many shots have you had?...we have had like 7, I think...

Breaking news...the info on the latest...Costco Brand Bourbon...it's rumored to be bottled at Barton 1792...part of the Sazerac Company....you know them?....they make Buffalo Trace...who also makes Pappy...anyhoo, the word out...is that it is mighty good...the Horse will get one, and let you know MY review...or YOU do it before me, and tell us YOUR review...

Supposed to be toasty around here this weekend...high 70's...hmmm, and that's exactly where I am headed, to get some toast and eggs...
