Get Up and Boogie



Get up and boogie...that's right!...ah, the rad days of driving out to Singing Hills, listening to a song...that has but few words...that's right, Singing Hill's Songs...which took me back to the mid-70's in me brain...almost 50 years hence....when there was this hot form of vinyl...we called it DISCO!...you know, you all mouth horned 'Disco Duck'...or, tried to...The Bee Gees falsetto voices...the slicked up sound of the flick's music of 'Saturday Night Fever'...and all of us, like the Horse too, tried their hand at dancing...(other than the round dance)...guess that should be feet not hand...the beat, it was the beat...

Boogie!...so many songs that had that in their title...anyhoo, the reason for me talking about this...is that I heard this song 'Get UP and Boogie' on the XM...lawdy, it is infectious...then realized there were but a few words in the tune...like I could sing it...'That's Right'...the title, the that's right, and then just plain 'Boogie'...and it was a chart topper...Snooki, you have no idea who sang this, do you?...no, you don't...

They had other hits...'Fly, Robin, Fly'...yes, with few words in that one, too...it was a German group...really...that's right...the Silver Convention...kind of makes me want to host a gig...a Disco one...wouldn't that be fun?...that's right...

OK, we needed a break from the drama that is going on in politics...the trump immunity...which basically says by SCOTUS, that there is indeed one man or woman, ABOVE THE LAW...no one else...just Bozo...congrats you judges, for turning back history of this Constitution 200 years...an absolute mockery of what you are supposed to be doing, sitting in judgment as the top judges of the land...shame on you...

The other side...the Demos...Prez B left his camp of his family, determined to stay the course...BUT, Demo leaders are suggesting something else...time to step down and let others lead...man, I heard a very interesting name brought up this am...and would immediately lead in the polls if selected...hold on to your top hat, it is Michelle Obama...that's right...we shall see...

Read a remarkable list of the richest celebrities and athletes in the land...almost choked on this...as in the top ten was KK...the rest of those mentioned either sang or played sports...not exactly sure what makes her a celebrity...maybe, I do...

The diet...in 10 weeks, we have stayed 99% on it...we had blood tests yesterday...and the results are dramatic...more to be done, but, WOW, we can see the difference...HUGE!....that's right...

We probably celebrated too much last nite...and I canceled my golf today...BUT, stayed on to the dietary demands, anyhoo...

I was so looking forward to the judgment of trump on July 11th...much to my chagrin, the judge has postponed his sentence until September...wonder who got to him?...nothing would surprise me...

Tis the season of movement in the NBA...and one of the Splash Bros, has left Golden St...Klay Thompson, is heading to the Mavs...which makes them the worst defensive team of all time...the goal?...outscore the opponents...should be a fun team to watch...I had a team like that back when...fun for fans, hell for the coach...release!...that's right...

Now, kids, find the Silver Convention on your radio, or whatever you listen to...and 'Get Up and Boogie'...

That's right...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
