The Derby

Much like the Masters in golf...there is but one annual race that all the horse owners want, badly...this is the one to get...the Kentucky Derby...have never been, but have gone to countless horse racing venues over my time on this earth...yup, as far as Florida, too...but never at Keeneland, or Churchill Downs in Kentucky...thinking back, with a tear in my eye, many of my co-bettors over the years have passed...Rick Z is the remaining one, I think...nevertheless, we venture on...trying to handicap the race...

My $ is scattered all over the place...and have an inkling for a closer...but, really, outside of 'Mine That Bird', the long shots usually are hard to peg...guess I will try to get Boss to make some Mint Juleps to celebrate the festive occasion...

These magnificent 3 year old animals...I am truly amazed at the beauty of them...often, at Del Mar, the great ones race here...I like to go to the paddock and just watch them prance around...gosh, they are YUGE!...sorry, I stole that from Stormy, as that was what Bozo said about...well, you know...I digress...

The one thing that messes up my handicapping...the rain and mud...let's hope, it is sunny and the track...FAST!

Still recall one of the most beautiful sights I have witnessed over the years...sitting at the Owl's Nest at the Sunriver Lodge, ah, in Oregon...central Oregon...at 5 pm, the horses there, are let out to go to their feeding...they run, like we would, thru the field beneath the lodge...it is an awesome site...have to do that again...maybe this summer?...what you think, Gahrs?...

The feisty Friars, have now won 3 in a row...thanks to 3 home runs by, Tatis, Crone, and Manny...Cease was on fire, pitching...and now, AJ is working a deal to bring the top hitting 2B from Miami (Luis Arraez), here...going to be the DH...primarily...and I'm sure will rotate in the infield...in return, the Marlins got 4 minor leaguers (prospects, they are optimistically referred to)...just read, a done deal...

NBA...the Mavs move on...who was that guy Irving?...don't ever recall him giving that much effort, as he did last night...when he plays like that, he is in the elite class of the league...for all of the grandiose statements of how great the Clip's HC Lue is...that team is a complete mess...BTW, the most over-rated star in the game is PG...Paul George...

The trump criminal case...ah, the one and only Hope Hicks was called yesterday...donny's pride and joy, to have around to gander at...she spilled the beans about the reaction after his 'Access Hollywood' tape...not else is needed...from her testimony...

Farmer Wants A Wife...now we are down to crunch time...they ( the 4 hombres) have to pick from their final twos...looks simple to me, who would fit the best in each case...but, as per usual, with these pixel shows...I am rarely right...bout time for a Lady Wants A Farmer, don't you think?...

Another show, 'Baby Reindeer'...Boss likes it, and the Horse...oh my...not by bag...Netflix...

OK, WNBA, if you want your product to be out there and people watching...get it on Natty TV!...there is loads of interest and you are blowing it...

For all you SD peops...we did the thing...the thing...went to the Fish House...bought some Alaskan Halibut...brought it home and pan fried it, and finished it off in the oven....lordy, it was divine!...not cheap, mind you...but WORTH every dollar...

Now this is coming out...the 'sudden' campus protests, have been planned for months...this is an expose in the Wall Street Journal...there are groups that do this...and they have been waiting...done...
