The Rains, My Goodness




One of my constant little giggles is the weather people here in south SoCal predicting RAIN!...usually, it turns out to be showers...not the Orygun rain I am used to...and it sprinkles for any hour or two, and then OUT pops the sun...well now, people...yesterday, was DIFFERENT...3+ inches in a couple of hours...followed by on again, off again, rain...lots of it...call us stupid...

Why?...we went to the super Walmart...thinking that most people would stay home...that part was semi-right...BUT, we had no idea that these waters...are unhinged here...there is no place for it to go...and makes like LAKES...and running rivers...some at least 4 and 1/2 feet HIGH...so guess what happened to us?...we were trying to get thru all the street and highway blockades...to get back home...took us about an hour, for a 10 minute normal, drive...

We don't get much, but WHEN we do...well, you can see...

The scribes want to make this New Hampshire vote as the last hurrah for Nikki Haley...perhaps...but, the orange has many court cases before him...and man, he has the beginnings of just plain losing it...let's see how the vote goes and judge accordingly...speaking of judge...the NYC one, postponed the case until Wednesday...so, trump could deal with the Election Day...well, the vote in NH...you forevers have to look the other way when donny talks, right?...looks bad, sounds bad, and is nearly incoherent...'but, he's our guy'...

The sign of the times...like the Los Angeles Times...this era of the vanishing paper trail...as the written word on a newspaper is going going going...nearly gone...as massive layoffs are now hitting that staple in LA...the written word...is now what is typed and shown on the web net...thinking in my lane...when politicians, sports figures, 'stars' are being interviewed, it is for what?...the pixels?...mags are dwindling...too...so, these interviewers are TV peops...things are changing, kids...

Do you know how often I have talked to people who say 'I don't watch the news'...and they have no newspaper...many many people...so just how do they formulate any political thinking?...word of mouth?...they don't say they read the info on the web...can this be the most uninformed set of Americans in the history of the nation?...this is a concern, kids...hmmm, they do go to concerts...and in one case, the revivals...that's where they must be getting THEIR news...yuck...

Maybe, just maybe, some are getting their info from the Horse...smart, very smart...of course, I am biased...hate trump...and that may be a turn off for the forevers...so, they go back to the revivals...at least he hasn't fallen off the stage...yet...

Let's get out of that stuff...

The Oscar Noms are this am...as we try to figure out why...ha ha...figure out if the flicks are worth watching...we have yet to see Oppenheimer...any of you?...

Detroit and Baltimore in the Sooper Bowl...that's my guess...and don't ever never bet on my hunches, cuz I am usually so wrong...in fact, bet just the OPPOSITE and you may win...

Movies...flicks...series...I have seen more cigarette smoking in the past 2 weeks...a point of emphasis?...

Today we get our next Covid shot...flu one, soon...but, not at the same time...have you got yours yet?...

Tried in vain to watch the new Bachelor...can't do it...the entries by the ladies was so lame...32 to pick from this time...sounds like it is archaic, right?...Kelly Ripa can't stand it...thus, I can't either...

BTW, 'Stump Mark', he is on a losing streak...it is funny...

Joel Embiid scored 70 points over the Spurs last nite...70!...against a team that was boasting that they were gonna shut him down...oops...and the Spurs (Pop's Team) lost...another...now 8-35...

I've said this before...but, football is a crazy game...often settled by the one guy on the sideline, that never gets his jersey dirty, his body hit, and has to run the wind sprints in practice...he just kicks the rock...seems to me, the kicker should be...one of the starting 22 in the lineup...now THAT would be a kick...and for you naysayers, he must play at least 10 downs...think about this...this is a good thang...

trump on 1/22/24..."We are an institute in a powerful death penalty."...can't make this saying up...it is all his...

I don't even know where to go after that...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... A Trial, Indeed

The revenge tour is ramping up ...as we gawk at the unchecked moves by trump ...even SCOTUS , the last leg of justice, is wobbling beneath his demands... this country is in disarray ...I wish I could give you better news... The unsightly attack of one of his Icetapo behemoths, on a lady in New York...taking her to the ground...an example of the uncontrolled behavior of that organization...guess that is what you call the group... simply, out of control, with NO LIMITS of force ...sad...and disgusting... The indictment of his former FBI head, James Comey ...for lying (imagine that from a legendary liar, trump) to Congress...this court case is needed for the country...to show the fallacy of the regime that is running rampant all over the land...it needs to be a BIG STAGE! ... A trial, indeed...
