I'll Have A Scone





In the depths of these very cold, winter days...might you wander down to your local coffee house and order...A SCONE!, with your coffee?...have you ever made them?...a bit more devilish than the biscuit...but, my mind wonders back to the Oregon State Fair of my youth...where, inside one of them halls, buildings, there was this Fisher Scone booth...selling the delights for a nickel, the ones with the raspberry in the middle...I do recall my dad getting a bag full for us...a very sweet memory...YOU, can still get them, as the scone mix is sold...the REAL Fisher ones...which we have done...alas, but if you want a scone from the coffee house, you will have to settle for whatever they have...not the Fisher's...Starbucks USED to have a maple frosted sensation...for some reason, they quit them....boo...well, it does sound good right now...as I am sconeless...do I dare stop at Starbucks on my way out to Singing Hills?...

The Houthis...which I told you about, a week or so ago...continued their sabotage on vessels in the Red Sea...these people are from Yemen...southeastern border of that body of water...which is a key transporting passage...the USA and Britain, had had enough...and struck the attackers, via the air and missiles...of course, the Houthis vow revenge...they already have been revenging...the 3 H's...Houthis, Hamas, and Hezbollah...all bad...very bad...and I fear a greater spread of this...war...I really don't see a way out...time for NATO to step in, too...guess it is not that simple...as, Iran is laying in the weeds...

Is he or isn't he?...the rumors were all over the place yesterday...as the Alabama job opened...the No 1 guy that EVERYONE was figuring would make a great fit...was the Duck's Dan Lanning...he was seen there, and then, here...and well, everywhere...'Here, There, and Everywhere'...the Beatles...he then let out a vid saying he is staying in Eugene...as the Duck fans rejoiced...now, it is someone else's turn to weather a possible move by their beloved coach...to the best coaching job in the states...well, it has been...now?...

The trump case in NYC...had it's closing arguments yesterday...donny wanted to do his thang and close it...the Judge said no, and that was how it was arranged...trump did anyway...and did himself bad...duh, every time he opens his mouth, he does wrong...just don't see why the court doesn't lock him up for insubordination...really...he wanted a jury...but, his latest set of clowns...his attorneys, didn't ask for that...as your trump circus ramble thru town...they better take their show to Iowa...

62 points...what?...who scored that?...nope, that was the deficit of a NBA game...aren't these pros?...yes, I see mismatched high school teams do that...but, 62?...oh my, the victors were the OKC Thunder (the former Seattle Supersonics) and the losers...were the PDX Blazers...the Portland Trailblazers...139-77...I warned you of the ineptness of this team...no greater example...the mighty have fallen HARD!...

The Horse is not into Broadway Shows much...the musicals I can dig, though...and there is one coming up TODAY that intrigues moi...'Beautiful', the Carole King Musical...just HAS to be good...love love her songs...love them...my fave?...so many, but probably 'It's Too Late'...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
