Tricks of the Trade

Hearing about the 'no hot water' thang, that the visitor had to endure after the game in the NFL...reminded me of the shenanigans that home teams pull off...like watering the infield too much, when the visitor is known for their speed...heating up the locker room way too high...putting in real tight nets in the basket, for teams who run a lot...over watering football fields...c'mon, these are thangs that coaches do...stealing signs that went too far, ah, see Michigan...

At one time, players just played the game...now 'showboating' is a norm...making a basket and turning toward the opponent's bench...staring down the defender, after dunking...the list is endless...used to be an automatic technical foul...not now...especially if the offender is a 'star'...

I'm telling you nothing that you don't know or see...the games have gotten pathetic...in this regards...shoot, hoops is a joke...YMCA...which is great if you like that...I don't...

Back when, if you fouled somebody...you had to raise your hand...'yup, I did it'...not now...if you didn't raise your arm, you got T'd...lordy...

Used to be...a coach had to sit during the game...hoops...unless, when I was coaching...my opponent convinced a judge his back was hurting, and he was allowed to stand all the time...in the tourney!...of course, I had to sit...now, the head coaches stand all the time in the NBA...why?...they have no plays...the players don't look at them...I guess to show the arena that they are the boss...of?...well, they get paid the most...I dunno...

The end of a true power couple...Prez Jimmy Carter and his wife, Roslyn...late 90's...with just a terrific set of lives...we met him, while he was campaigning way back when...at the time, a long shot...never forget what he said 'you have a beautiful wife, take good care of her'...really...

College football...no doubt the final 4 will take a major change...as the rivalry games are coming up...Ohio St at Michigan...OSU at Oregon...Wash and WSU...FSU and Florida...Alabama and Auburn...play the games, and let that be the diff...

Well, we are heading out to Singing Hills for some golf...taking Boss for her round of the year...meeting up with them Gahrs...the weather?...77*, so the prognosticators. say....
