Absolutely Nuttin'



WAR...what is it good for....ABSOLUTELY NUTTIN'...ah ha...and the words carry on...it was the Vietnam War...and it was originally put out by the Temptations in 1968...but, the HIT...was a couple of years later...by Edwin Starr...as we endured the misguided attempt at 'saving' South Vietnam...how does this apply to now?...

It is all over the news now...the Hamas and Israel...neighbors, so to speak...and one can find fault in either side's desire to ______?...and that is the dilemma...another of those 100 year wars that seemingly break out every once in a while...BUT, Israel is ready and armed...for anyone in the Middle East to attack them...the USA can say and threaten all we want to Israel, to back down...the Jewish people will not seal a fate like in the Second World War...they are prepared for the ultimate defense...

Of course, it is more complicated than that...maybe it's not...

Pivoting...

We have our own battle right here in the country...the division brought about by trump, has been unnerving and unsettling...we have our own Race WAR...that has reared it's ugly head...do not try to tell me otherwise...I read about it in the 1920's...and it has been embedded in the souls of many...and he brought out the ugly...in way too many...people of color, are not equal in many minds...we need to stop that thinking...you need it any clearer?...

Sports teams always talk about battles and wars...none worse about that than old time football coaches...who seem to have the best, and or, oldest, phrases stored up in their heads...to use as their team gets ready for a big game...er, battle...or WAR...ah, no it's not...a WAR...it's game, foos...they give this nonsensical rhetoric...then, say 'let's bow our heads in prayer'...right, now God is going to lead and guide them OUT to their WAR!...it is not war...

A battle yes, but not WAR!...

The Washington Huskies and the Oregon Ducks...man, this will be a doozy...the Dawgs have a narrow point fav, acc to them Vegas Boys...it's in Seattle...and the weather has been rainy...so...who does that favor?...I dunno...toss up, kids...and then...UCLA at OSU, in the same weather pattern...does fav the Beavs...and are destined for the big W...that's win and not war...BTW, Game Day is in Seattle this week...

Jimmy Fallon...'we spend 364 days of the year telling our kids to not take candy from strangers...and on one night, Halloween, we say otherwise...'...

I didn't think I would like Season 6 of Suits...but, it is great after all...2 more seasons, kids...

I grew up in Oregon...and did not have a close MLB team...so, it was by tele that I picked one...actually 2...would scour the paper for the stats every morning...imagine, SF was the closest...then, Seattle got one, the Pilots...still my favs were Rocco Colavito of the 'Indians' and Roberto Clemente of the Pirates...Oregon STILL does not have a MLB team...70 years later...

The Horse was up late last eve...insomnia...ha ha...anyhoo, had the channel clicker...and watched the late nite talkees...Kimmel, Colbert, and Fallon...C,D,C in that order...oh my, the guests...who are they?...gone are the 'stars' of the stage, screen and contemporary music scene...I must say, it was mindless drivel...give me a rerun of Seinfeld...BTW, Jerry should be a talk show host...then, I would watch...

We embark on an extended Cosmo Trip...camping, ah glamping...is our thing...so, I will post as I have free time...in the past, I ALWAYS have free time...

Coach Barney Fife, has informed me that he switched QB's back...the Chargers Herbert is back in the fold...we have yet to make a trade...as GM AJB Dweller has been a looking, but no takers...yet...wish us luck...

Oh yea, the thing I talked about yesterday...my cellphone...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
