Probably the least talked about in the news...of all things...a Cyber Attack at MGM Resorts in Vegas...ah, well, all over their system...hotels nationwide...shutting down the technology of it all...like the slot machines, the reservation system, and them bloody room keys...they wouldn't work...you were _hit outta luck...your room would not open...who knows what else was hampered, or shuttered...this was Sunday eve...as of late last nite, Tuesday, they said they were 'operational'...meaning, you could get into your room...this resort chain, has at least 5 other casinos on the strip...same fate...somehow, the news of this, had little legs...why?...just had to be squashed...tourism, kids...tourism...
The hot item of the morning...the escaped convict in Pennsylvania was captured...2 weeks of hiding, and the hunt was over...surprisingly, no one killed...ie, him...alls well, that ends well...something like that...
The team that I followed while a youngster...the Cleveland Indians...featuring my fave players, Rocky Colavito, and Herb Score...did what was right...and changed their nickname...a weird choice, they came up with...'Guardians'...their rational was after the Art Deco statues on the Hope Memorial Bridge, near their baseball stadium...their nomenclature is 'Guardians of traffic'...hmmm, really?...let's take another angle...bear with me...
Back in the '23 year...ah, 1923...like a century ago...there was this band of 'Indians'...the Osage...that after, being defeated and the government put this nomadic tribe on a stable piece of land, called the reservation...it was in Oklahoma...and lo and behold, guess what?...on this land, came up a bubbly crude...Texas tee...notice the year, the beginning of the petrol powered automobile...the rich wanted that oil...that the government gave to the Osage...turns out they (Osage) became mighty rich...and yes, the government stuck their neck in again...decided that the savages, er, Injuns, couldn't handle the money...they would blow it all, like all poor people might...even the whites...so, they granted 'Guardians' to help distribute the said cash 'as needed' to the Osage...local white people that would serve in this position...
Yes, I wonder if the powers to be, may have rethought their 'Indians' and bamboozled the public with their bridge story, but in fact, used the concept of the Oklahomans...interesting...
What an internal squabble with the republicans in the House...they do have some problem children in the upper echelon...Gaetz, MTG, Boebert, to name a few...and they were key people in getting the House Speaker elected...after 15 votes, there was enough concessions to get McCarthy elected...one of those things, to have an inquiry into an impeachment of Prez B...it now has been introduced...when Prez B was VP B...yes, a stretch...but this is what McCarthy said he would do, to get the job...sure, trump had an angle in this, too...conversations with McCarthy...listen, trump will do ANYTHING to deflect the negative away from him...too late, dude...
