The Weekend


The news out of Maui...80+ dead now...and the number will rise...the complete devastation...the disaster of disasters...in such a beautiful, memorable place...as I have said before, I can't imagine the terror those people went through...yes, the warning sirens did not go off...sometimes you wonder if there is a supreme power...such a tragedy that will take years to rebuild, if done...this is open ended for sure...

Nothing compares to this, regardless of what I write about...

We had a dinner the other nite...and the food came out raw....at least mine did...chicken parm...it was a shock...the waiter and manager, fell all over themselves, to accommodate me...wasn't their fault...but, how could a cook possibly think the food was prepared correctly?...can't think of a time that I have ever gone thru this...ever...no names...here...

The Friars unleashed on the DBacks last eve in Arizona...put a 10 spot on the boards...so very needed...yet, we still have problems with our relief pitching corps...if we could just ask our starters to go 7...would really help...hear me, Mgr Melvin?...

Realignment...problems for Stanford and Cal...in trying to get into the ACC...Clemson, and 3 others are voting against it...including North Carolina and NC State...why?...the cost?...the flights?...I get that, if that is it...let's take a step back and bolster the remaining 4 PAC...if we are only talking football...Stanford, Cal, OSU, WSU...and add SDSU, Fresno St, Wyoming, UNLV, Utah St, and Nevada...OR, the 4 PAC just goes into the Mountain...?...I dunno...we shall wait and see...

Tonight, I take Boss to Eddie V's...our most fav spot for dining in Diego...terrific ambiance, service, and great eatings...their special this week?...Alaskan Halibut!...you see, they have halibut down here...not the same...as the Northwest ones...this is special, for a special lady, on a special day...Vinyl Record Day....

Have you heard of this?...there is this wine company...that fermented it's wine in the OCEAN!...really...Ocean Fathoms...out of Santa Barbara...illegally...it would come back up and have all these thangs attached to it...there would be stuff, like potentially contaminated, that would seep in...the FDA said it was a warning to all, that bought it...that sold for a whopping $500 a bottle...there's more to the story, but buyer beware...

We went to this restaurant/bar the other nite...and I noticed that many of the dudes there...dressed up their attire by adding just one thing...they had the same type of tee shirt I did...I had my Zombies shirt proudly on...and here it is, they adorned themselves with a light blazer....hmmm, I got that...so, am looking for a blazer, that would make me as cool as them...hip...rad...groovy...bad...dope...swank...

Ah yes, for your pleasure of the bachelor series...there is a newbie...'The Golden Bachelor'...yup, like you know what that means...a 71 yr old elder...gets to pick from 25, 25 year olds...ah, kidding...but, elder ladies, I guess...will this be a hit?...those fantasy rooms could be a hoot...

If donuts are so bad for you, why do they make them?...

So we had a showing of our pad, via a pocket listing...you know what that is?...not really putting it on the market, but having a realtor show it anyway...with the intent of selling...but, not out there for the general public...we are in limbo on that timing...place looked great, Boss...

It has been a year and a half now, for the Putin War on Ukraine...so much for his blitzkrieg...guess, that is the terminology of the other dictator...

This just may be, a read the book day...hit the pool...watch some golf...and go to the Vinyl Record Store...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
