It Got Worse


When the news broke about the wild fires on Maui, yesterday...it shattered my mind...the town of Lahaina was ablaze...and now, the aftermath...as I first heard, 6 dead...many structures afire and presumed destroyed...the infamous Banyan Tree?...gone...then...this morning...reality has sunk in...IT GOT WORSE!...36 DEAD, and many displaced...some 11,000...am assuming this figure is referring to locals...the town has burned to the ground...the Banyan Tree?...still standing, but...scarred...truly amazing that it is...not to down play, this...but there are fires elsewhere on the island...Kihei and north of Kahana...have not heard the severity of them...just a very sad day for Hawaii...also, fired on the Big Island, south of Maui...think the world isn't heating up?...scary, my good friends...

Of course, this is news you can get elsewhere...but it has painful relevance to my family...and my friends who have joined us there over the years...gone...but not forgotten...never...

Pivoting...ah, the latest word in writing, er speaking, too...changing subjects...it's like when BOLD was the adjective...of choice...kinda like rad...I digress...the 4 PAC in the collegiate ranks...Stanford, Cal, WSU and OSU...how the Beavers got linked with the Cougars is weird...as, breaking news here with the Horse...the Atlantic Coast Conference...the ACC...the other coast...is in serious talks with Notre Dame, who want Stanford and Cal, to go along with the Irish into the ACC...hmmm...which leaves the Cougs and Beavs as the 2 PAC...and destined to join the Mountain West...a bitter jolt to their system...a severe slap in the face to OSU...money talks...just read, possibly SMU to the ACC, too...

The Friars stunk up Seattle again...the O has been rotten...the pitching OK...thus, a team meeting after last night's debacle...minus Mgr Melvin?...fire his arse...it's a short loss skein away...you can dismiss AJ, too...time for some new blood in the upper management...how do I really feel?...pour me another one...

The Taylor Swift phenomenon...who'd a thunk...I, yes the Horse, bought her first album way back when...it was light country...fun...and real...was surprised when she took off for the pop world...as it has been a cemetery for all those who try transitioning there...BUT, she not only survived...but has made it her OWN...nobody has been as HUGE as she...thinking back, she started with terrific choreography...when in country...transferred it big time to the POP WORLD...and now, she is a must see...how about that...

The Luggex arrived...and are terrific...light...and has just what we want when we travel...a great move and now...let's go!...shhhh, don't tell anyone, but we are getting shown tomorrow...shhhh...

This just may sway you, if you are a republican teetering on the trump vote...he just declared he WOULD NOT SUPPORT the republican candy man or woman, if it is not him, himself...who does that?...trump...such a great party line bloke...figure it out, elephants...

Talkin above the law...SCOTUS Clarence Thomas...38 vacations given to him from billionaires....unreported...from whom?...think we don't have a problem here?...stay tuned...Congress, you listening to this?...

Am I outta sorts here...but, an elderly person mountain climbing seems a bit out of wack...right?...I read about them, getting lost all the bloody time...shoot, I have trouble walking up to the 7th tee box...get disoriented often...where is the Horse?...

JUST NOW saw a vid of Front St in Lahaina...it's all gone, kids...all gone...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
