Happy 4th

Hot dogs. hamburgers, ribs, tater salad, baked beans, and apple pie
...is this not the latest and greatest traditional fare for the day?...the 4th of July!...I suppose in better times, it was...oh no, the Horse is putting a dagger into the festivities...of course, it is all relevant to YOUR very own situation...I cringed, at the latest mass shootings...now in Philadelphia AND Fort Worth, Texas...people, like you and I, trying to celebrate the occasion...and get blown apart...the assault rifle at play, again...you know it is so bad and repeated, that Congress doesn't even send out their 'thoughts and prayers'...anymore...too many are turning their blind eye to the horrific occurrences...over 350 of them, thus far...THIS YEAR!...

There is this show on the pixels, HULU, I think...that has this gal of Indian descent, go about the country and sample foods of different regions and ethnicity...'Taste The Nation' featuring, er starring, Padma Lakshmi...it is really great...now, Indian, I am talking from India...not the Christopher Columbus 'Indians'...well now, she settled on the Navajo Nation last time...indigenous food...ah what?...you see, what the country recognizes as that is 'frybread'...surely, that's what you think...this ONLY came about after the white man tried to eradicate all the 'Injuns'...couldn't so, put them all in prisons....they called it reservations...'Rez'...away from their true indigenous food, they were given rations from the Guv...flour, salt, sugar, canned whatever...and from this came a necessity, this thing called 'frybread'...the REAL food, was from when they were free to live...the animals that roamed the country...what they could raise, too...it was a nostalgic hour, to say the least...happy 4th...

MLB announced their all stars...and the Friars got 2 on...OF Soto, and RP Hader...ok, Jr had to be close...and P Wacha...as we hosted the talent abundant Angels...and got what a lot of us, expected for most of the season...a 10-3 whomping...Bogey and Jr had terrific games...the pitching, was just so so...but 10 runs will do it...today, we face Ohtani...10 runs?...probably not...the Atlanta 'Braves' got 8 players in the game...All Stars...wow...

You know, going to the beach to lay in the sand...is so similar to the way the Native Americans (you call them indigenous people)...roamed the earth...well, the USA...kept going until they found just the right spot...and then built the teepees, and you, the heathens, put your blanket, your chairs, and your tent up...you CLAIM the land you are squatting on...just what would YOU do, if the blue coats came over and MOVED you to the rocky area...no sand, but the beach is over yonder...?...

I actually miss one talk show the most...well, Johnny Carson was the ultimate...so, I guess I mean, one other...'Fernwood 2 Night'...hosted by Martin Mull, with sidekick, Fred Willard...alias, Barth Gimble and Jerry Hubbard...with Happy Kine and his Mirthmakers...later switched it's name to 'America 2 Night'...go on to YouTube and find some shows...you can thank me later...a slapstick version of all the other talkees...

You know late night use to be a battle of them talk shows...Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin, Joey Bishop, all at the same time...then came Arsenio hall...for the intellects, there was Dick Cavett...'what book are you reading now?'...and for you freaks, who liked way out stuff (nowadays forevers) there was the Tom Snyder Show...

Anyone want to go see the remains of the Titanic now?...

The Hot Dog eating contest...the same dude wins it most every year...Joey Chestnut...you know, he's not that big either...Nathan's wieners...he is the 15 time champion!...he's 39 and only lost once, in 2015...not to leave out the women, they have a studette, too...Miki Sudo has won 8 times...OK, ladies and gentleman, prepare your gut for the opening horn...the Horse's personal record (PR, Snooki) is two...BTW, Miki ate 39 today...

BREAKING NEWS...Joey won again, engulfing 62 hot dogs for his 16th win!...to the potty, Joey...

I'm still thinking about the talk show...the best guests...were legends...Lucy Ball, Jimmy Stewart...Liz Taylor, Rodney Dangerfield, and my favs...Franks Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Don Rickles...it seemed like a party, that we got to watch...

Let's get into the Dame trade...or, lack thereof...it appears that it will be a 3 team fix...the Klaven is the Beard....nobody wants him...or, if they land the bloke, they are gonna be a 50% team at best...lack of D...duh...Lillard wants to go to the Heat...PDX, wants quality in exchange...and it ain't gonna be Harden...

In a matter of 5 days we will see Little Big Town and Neil Young...man, is that rad or what?...bitchin'...like what we have in our hallway, I might just sit out there for a while, to get ready for Neil...if you know what I mean...then, Boss has Jury Duty a couple of days after...and you KNOW she will be picked...

Did you know, that on the Capitol vinyl of 'Best of The Beach Boys', one of the songs is 'Louie Louie'...what?...NOT one of their best...who decided that?...

Do you have a bucket list?...I kinda do...so, it may not be a true one...go to the Kentucky Derby...go to the Masters...go to Europe...own a '57 Chevy...hmmm, and how many years I got left?...and that's selfish, not sure Boss wants the same...so, guess not, it's not a true bucket list...more of a wish list...and we have to watch our grand kids grow...a lot to do, in a ...well, let's not go there...

We are going up up and away, to see the fireworks tonight...23rd floor?...something like that...
