Phoebe Buffay



You must have a sense of humor at times...must...as we ventured out to a bar/restaurant prior to the Graham Nash Concert last eve...ah, right, Father's Day...er, Father's Nite...whatever...and timed it so perfectly, we were complimenting ourselves on such good, make that great, planning...ah ha...not so fast my FRIENDS...we came upon a newish waitress...nice gal...but...she had problems with the order...each and every time...our food?...after an hour, never arrived...as EVERYONE around us, who were sat way after us...were feeding their faces with the grub they ordered...our drinks sat on the bar for a good 10 minutes...no joke...no exaggeration...Boss even went up to see what the deal was...the Phoebe blonde waitress looked at her and said 'oh, OK, we are backed up'....right...finally, the Horse had had enough...beckoned the manager...who said he himself was trying to cover for her...long story, cut...we bolted...no food...not charged for the 'order' and we left ZERO tip...first time ever...sorry Phoebe...Buffay...ok, kids...I know it is Ursula Buffay, but most of you wouldn't know that......

Went into the concert and rushed to the popcorn seller...got the big box and that's the din din we feasted on...Graham Nash?...came out in a 3 piece ensemble...and I am not talking his clothes...he sounded great...did a bit of CSN, and the Beatles, too...was a story teller and yet...we were starved...and left at break time...off to Little Italy for some late nite eats...OK, you are up to speed...

The abysmal tee times of the US Open...who on earth set them?...play until dark?...what are the Pros doing?...we used to do that in college...but, c'mon...the Duck, Wyndham Clark, won it...over Rory by one...cool...Rickey?...faded early and I felt sorry for the lad...BTW, by what I saw, just a miserable course...you rich fat cats, can have it to yourselves...

The Friars won the series against the best team in beisbol...the Tampa's...this is a good sign...if we can just keep up the momentum and get into the race...if...

Do you know what today is?...Juneteenth...what is it?...simply, the holiday to commemorate the emancipation of the enslaved people in the USA...get this, Guv 'Hey Abbott'...it first started in your state, of Texas...no doubt, he will try to ban it now...I digress...this is the country's newest holiday...

'Hey Abbott''...this is the dude who is canceling water breaks for construction workers...somebody, er a bunch of somebodies, MUST vote this clown OUT!...

The NBA does their draft thing tomorrow...but, the Suns traded away their PG, CPIII, ahead of it...they fired their coach, got rid of their PG, and now will win, right?...nope, too many non-coachable blokes on the team...disaster...mark my words...

Normally, this guy is out on the course on Monday...but, they are plugging the greens and the Horse stays away...a bunch of holes in the ground somewhere in the fairways are used for 'greens'...ah, no, not me...

You ever been to the Grand Canyon?...they have this walk above the canyon...dang scary, which we wouldn't do...yet, another person fell from it...of course, died...what is this?...it is reported 12 people per year do the same thang...oh my...no thanks, I took a pix of it, and that is as close as I want to be...

Here in Diego's world...we have a children's park that has been created for the past 3 years...it is done, but not opened....why?...nobody is sharing the reasoning...it's a block away from us...

By what we are told the meetings with Blinken and Xi Jinping went well...which of course means?...I dunno...

Later on this week, we are heading north via Cosmo...see the kids...and culminate with a tour of the Hearst  Castle...we shall move slowly this time...no 7 hour at a time jaunts...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
