Day 5

Check Mate...not that, but the game of Chess...you a player?...of that game?...the one of the ages...like really...the Horse learned it when he was way young...listen, kids, it is complicated...which made me think...who invented it?...

This is as bedeviled as the game itself...the history is muddled...some say as far back as 200 BC...by some Chinese guy...then, there are those who say some Indian in the 600’s...some say it was a Persian...cmon...originally called chaturanga...eerily similar to Chinese checkers...4 colors...hmmm...the modern game?...probably changed in the 1800’s...of course, an aristocratic board match...the Brits?...seriously, no one really knows...

The one thing, it is extremely hard to find people who play it...my claim to fame...there were these chess geeks at college, on THE chess team, held a round robin game at the student center...they played multiple people at once...to show their dominance...of course, the Horse fell for the gimmick...the dude kept going elsewhere, then stopped that...and ONLY, played moi...no check mate, but a STALE MATE...yup, they asked me to join them...not me, no not me...I was not a geek...

Totally checkmated, are the Friars...gosh, I would love to be a fly in that locker room...something is badly amiss...off to Pittsburgh for a set...

Keegan Bradley a winner!..a feel good story...on the other hand, 60 Minutes repeated their story on LIV...and their financial banking of the Saudis...repulsive money grabbing golfers...

Just watch the collapse of Putin...the people of there, will not stand for it...inevitable...

Follow the money...trump is attempting to move cash from his political donations to cover his court cases...payouts, attorney fees, and propaganda...just another move by the incorrigible...yet, YOU still send him dollars and follow the bloke...heathens...

After a 24-4 win, forcing a champ game...Florida faces LSU for the crown today...

We are going to roam Morro Bay, today...fish lunch...and prep for the Hearst Castle visit...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
