It Took 15


Record shattering, for the modern era...the House Repubs took 15 votes to get their leader...did you watch thus unfurl?...I did...it was real...and shows the unpredictability of the House...for the next 2 years...Kevin McCarthy is the Speaker of the House...another Cali one, er won...succeeding the very smart Nancy Pelosi...the reason for the number of votes...the band of 6 that were 'never Kevin'...voters...seemingly led by Matt Gaetz...this photo I have of McCarthy, with the gavel, I reckon he wishes Matt's noggin was beneath it...joking, kids...I think...

One learns so much about the mechanisms of how the voting goes...if the Rep votes 'present' it is much like a 'I don't really care'...and figures in the tally of what is counted...I really think that some of the band of 6, didn't know this until this all got going...hidden underneath all of this drama, was the constant calls from trump...who will eventually claim victory for the vote...perhaps...the Repubs have a very looooonnnggg way to go...

The weird thing?...the band of 6 were negating the advice of Fonny...who knows what is really happening...but, the disgust for Gaetz is quite evident...as the viewing of the bloke from Oklahoma (oops, he was from Alabama) trying to get at him, when he refused to change his vote in the 14th round...dang, it would have been a real donnybrook...do I care?...not one bit...I was viewing MSNBC, and they said the real winner was Gaetz...almost like it was on a teevee show...anyhoo, it is over and now the real 'shit show' begins...

The NBA...can't recall the day that so many players (stars?) DON'T suit up...happens so regularly now...I blame Pop and the Spurs for this...he started the trend, like 5 seasons ago...think Jordan ever didn't play?...or Magic?...or Russell?...

Just for fun, follow the plight of Utah Valley in guys hoops...they beat the Ducks last month...and lead the WAC right now...

Terrific weekend for the NFL...outside of the guy who nearly died...who's gonna make the playoffs?...the Pack, Lions, or the Hawks?...must win thangs...of course, never ever bet on the games...

I had the dangest cold that was debilitating for 24 hours...couldn't stop coughing...it was like immediate, too...the only thing that seemed to handle it, was Nyquil...BTW, did take a Covid test, and that was negative...this am, I am better...not coughing non stop...and yea, finally slept...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... A Trial, Indeed

The revenge tour is ramping up ...as we gawk at the unchecked moves by trump ...even SCOTUS , the last leg of justice, is wobbling beneath his demands... this country is in disarray ...I wish I could give you better news... The unsightly attack of one of his Icetapo behemoths, on a lady in New York...taking her to the ground...an example of the uncontrolled behavior of that organization...guess that is what you call the group... simply, out of control, with NO LIMITS of force ...sad...and disgusting... The indictment of his former FBI head, James Comey ...for lying (imagine that from a legendary liar, trump) to Congress...this court case is needed for the country...to show the fallacy of the regime that is running rampant all over the land...it needs to be a BIG STAGE! ... A trial, indeed... In data released by trump's own government...the largest groups of detainees...the Icetapo's achievement of rounding up people...are not the ones with ANY CRIMINAL RECORD , but, 'illeg...
