Hats, Here, There, and Everywhere


There was a time...that men wore hats...exclusively...it wasn't proper to be without one on your head...brimmed ones...see old pix of men, with them hats on...at ball games...not baseball caps, mind you...but the brimmed ones..called fedora's?...stetson's?...shoot, I dunno...of course, the guys wore suits, too...all the time...40's?...early 50's?...30's?...thereabouts...

Not now...in fact, one is out of the norm if in tow....of course, in your finer restaurants one must remove the hat...even in some golf club bars...ha ha...what a joke...the bloke looks dapper, then off comes the lid...and he is BALD!...ah, but the ladies could keep theirs on...if they are allowed in at all...just not fair, right?...

I like hats...sun shielders in some cases...bad hair day cures...no hair hiders...or just to be snappy...perhaps, to support the team...your team...you do know, that the aged ones, with the beautiful quaffed hair...NEVER wear hats...they love to show off their real mop...proud of it...what about the dudes who pay thousands of dollars for the fake hair?...never ever don a cap...

Some guys have big heads...no hats for them...too much emphasis...the combover blokes?...nope, they have taken too much time to get it just right...no caps for them...MAGA caps?...targets for the ridiculous...do ya wear a hat while fishing?...for sure when hunting, the orange ones...too many heathens out there wanting to fire their weapons...deer ain't orange...

Yes, there is a time and place for the hat...cap...fedora...stocking cap...cowboy hat...golf cap...lid, whatever you call it...maybe, just maybe, you look BETTER with one on...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
