The Modern Version




The ultimate dream of a pitcher...throwing a no-hitter!...in the World Series...only happened one other time, by the Yank's Don Larsen...for us elders, the sight of C Yogi Berra, jumping up in Larsen's arms...is etched forever...I said other, cuz it happened again last eve in Philly...BUT...the nowadays version...yes...it was done by 4 players...the use of bullpens are commonplace...rarely, does a starter go 9...even now, there has to be some hesitancy to pull a pitcher, sporting a no-no...Mgr Dusty Baker, he himself from the old school...did it...so now, it is the Javier-Abreu-Montero-Pressly...er JAMP no hitter...oh yea, Houston won, to tie up the series, 5-0...

Washington 'Redskins'...the former name of the NFL team in DC...finally gave in to rising pressure to change it's nickname...the owner, Dan Snyder, wanted to keep it...citing his own beliefs as gospel...the name was gone...in his ornery state, decided to just call it the Washington Football Team...ah, ok...then it landed with the Commodores...whatever...under pressure again to sell the club...he has muddled about and found a bank to help him in the process...I think...he wants to keep it...sell off part of it...to cave to the league, and get a minority part owner...thing is, no one wants to partner with the bloke...

I've never understood the idea of a starting pitcher limited to 100 pitches...why is that the number?...magic?...it's like treating all your players the same...nope, they are all different...so are the strengths of the arms...duh...some should go 80, some 120...beisbol can be stupid...

Breaking....'Cornhole' champs accused of cheating...no joke...they were investigated for altering their beans in the bags...cornholes...

Every once in a while, the Horse gets bewildered by pop music...ah, well, often...simply don't get it anymore...there are two that are extremely popular and I can't figure out why...Beyonce and Adele...they may have a hit or two, but I can't name or hum 'em...am I out of it?...

We just watched the last Downton Abbey flick...finally free to us...it was fab...I only have one query and I don't want to spoil the show for you followers...so I can't ask it...but, well worth the time viewing it...

Kenny Chesney...and Renee Zellweger...recall their marriage?...4 month annulment...rumors went rampant that Chesney is gay...and that is why...?...ah, so what?...it didn't work...better right off the bat, than years of turmoil...right?...the tabloids had them as a whirlwind romance...fact is, they were smitten with each other for some time...that's the only fact that is for sure...and the other?...naw, KC is into the ladies...

The Ducks are 30 1/2 point favs over Colorado, in the mile high city...what?...man, I am not betting against UO, but it seems like a no brainer to take the Buffs and the points...the Beavs play at the Dawgs, Friday niter...OSU is ranked 23, and is getting no respect from the Vegas Boyz...getting 4 points...

The Breeders Cup starts tomorrow...I need 2 things...invest some loot...and handicap...if I can hit 20%, I will cash...it's true...'you're all winners!'...

Not too sure about our local weather...high winds this am...yesterday, I was assured it would not rain on moi out at Singing Hills...got drenched...yet, scored one of my better rounds this season...who'd a thunk...all the while, I coughed...over and over and over...

PGA vs LIV...a wrench (see yesterday's' blog) was thrown into the scuffle between the Norman league and the PGA...Bubba Watson...who signed on for the Saudi cash...let it out, that for 'years', players on the PGA Tour got money behind the scenes to play in tourneys...enticements...no diff than what Norman is doing...true?...if so, we have more of a mess, than I thought...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

A Trial, Indeed

The revenge tour is ramping up ...as we gawk at the unchecked moves by trump ...even SCOTUS , the last leg of justice, is wobbling beneath his demands... this country is in disarray ...I wish I could give you better news... The unsightly attack of one of his Icetapo behemoths, on a lady in New York...taking her to the ground...an example of the uncontrolled behavior of that organization...guess that is what you call the group... simply, out of control, with NO LIMITS of force ...sad...and disgusting... The indictment of his former FBI head, James Comey ...for lying (imagine that from a legendary liar, trump) to Congress...this court case is needed for the country...to show the fallacy of the regime that is running rampant all over the land...it needs to be a BIG STAGE! ... A trial, indeed... In data released by trump's own government...the largest groups of detainees...the Icetapo's achievement of rounding up people...are not the ones with ANY CRIMINAL RECORD , but, 'illeg...
