Working on a Groovy Thing





Good morning, all!...have looked back at some of my later posts...don't want redundancy...a word I heard over and over from my old hoops coach in high school, Bruce Barker...not the point...but, was noticing that I triggered many of my headlines using song titles...yes, familiarity is a good thing...that would get you in the mood...soothe you...relax your brain...and let you wallow in the news of the day, as the Horse sees it...

From the advice of our good friends from Indio, supplanted there from across the street from us in Keizer, Orygun...them Morrisses...we spent an hour an a half watching a Prime Vid flick on orange...'Unfit!', or is that 'Unfit?'...by a stream of psychiatrists that give a diagnosis of trump...is he fit for the presidency?...kind of like stuff, that is more technical in terms than we already know...narcissism...one line that got me...'he doesn't care what happens to you'...OC, that is my analysis, as a bonafide cynic...which is "trump cares only about how it affects himself, and not about anyone else"...I rest my case...

BTW, why on earth would he harbor over 300 classified files at his residence in Mara-Lago?...as reported yesterday, some in his closet...ah, why?...

And again, he didn't write any book...his ghost author did...really, JCC...if you were dumb enough to buy it, then you are probably dumb enough to buy Jared's...according to Ivanka (Jared's masterpiece), it is the number one seller in Amazon...maybe she meant, on the Amazon River...

Here at the home, we had a marvelous thing done to the condo...we had our marble floor cleaned and shined...it is spectacular!...they look like new...we don't allow anyone to walk on them...so, one can come in and peek...then skedaddle out...we are going to have footies by the door...for the heathens who venture further...

You Duck fans, you must have had mixed emotions about the latest alumni happenings...the bad, Thibodeaux, now of the Giants, got illegally blocked and busted his knee...and Marcus Mariota has been named the starting QB at Atlanta...and the here and now on campus...less than 2 weeks before the big opening game with Georgia...

The land locked areas of the world, are losing water in their rivers...EVERYWHERE...and near Germany, they are finding Nazi boats that have sunk...the Colorado River has to be affecting our getaway spot, Lake Havasu...and then there is Lake Meade, outside of Vegas...where they keep turning up mysteriously drowned bodies...'swimming with the fishes'...I am a cynic, not a scientist, but ain't there a way to get all that water from the seas and oceans INLAND?...

At the very TOP of his game, Will Zalatoris, the PGA Pro...has to withdraw from the season ending champ...2 herniated discs...and also miss the President's Cup...sorry, Will...he is a goodun, count him back, soon...maybe I shouldn't say back...

The Friars host the Guardians (oh my) for a pair...c'mon, timber!...we are in the hunt for a playoff spot...fuggit about catching the Bums...they are way ahead, deservedly...we are chasing the wild card spot...

For all the hullabaloo about trading away KD and Kyrie...the Nets have them after all...good luck coaching staff with them divas...'set it up!'...ha ha....ha ha...

You know, when you smile...some people smile back and think 'what a charming lad'...some people look past you and think 'what is he after?'...some people look right thru you and think 'what's he up to?'...and some people grimace and think 'what's he know that I don't know'...this is from a bonafide cynic...

OK, I led with this...'Working on a Groovy Thing' was a hit for the 5th Dimension...the lead was the marvelous Marilyn McCoo...but, did you know, that was a cover?...yup, for Patti Drew...and this, Neil Sedaka (Breaking Up is Hard To Do, amongst many others) co-wrote the song...and that's what I am doing today...working on a groovy thing...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
