Nothing like being a part of the aura of a Beach Boys Concert...ageless people all over the yard...sporting what they had that monikered the famed singing group...or, like us, moseying on over to the merchandise stand to see what's new...lo and behold, the one and only Bruce Johnston was at the booth...with enough time to talk to the lad...mentioning that our son, too, was from his now home of Montecito...got a pick with him and the Boss...what a gentleman...for youse NOT in the know, he is one of them Beach Boys...as we left, a star eyed wurman, asked for his picture, too...in her words, 'Brian, would you pose with us?'...calmly, he replied, 'ma'am, I am Bruce'...it was funny...
Rady was a sell out...peoples everywhere...in the grass, outside of the lot, in boats by the island...grooving...the Boys have this old time sound, that ALL know...and love...will say, the way the concert is arranged for the patrons, it is NOT conducive to rushing the stage...almost like a sit down place of yesteryear...alas, the sound...was great...The Beach Boys still bring it...a fun time had by all...
Not so fun...the Friars...lost again to the Bums...did not see a bit of this, due to the above...it will take time for the new unit to gel...obviously, not ready right NOW for LA (who is?)...but, give the Pads some brewing time...they will get there...especially when Jr re-emerges...have faith, ya'll...
