Not Like Before

Nostalgia...the late nite talky shows...no one was better than Johnny Carson
...at least in my era...one of his things, was to take a break...and guest hosts were alive and well...well, one time there was this bloke, 'Mr Warmth'...Don Rickles, who got the call...and for all of his sarcasm towards others...the 'others' got their revenge on him...as he was struggling doing the behind the mike thang...out came, unannounced mind you, Bob Hope...then, Bing Crosby...we are not done...then, John Wayne...the crowd went berserk!....thing is...we don't have stars like this anymore...who would come out now?...there is no one...times have certainly changed...

I know I tease you a lot about this...but, a few floors above us...it is going for $1.35 million...which is mighty attractive to us...not to buy, but maybe the market is right to sell ours...we have this 'one more time'  move thang...I dunno...depends on if it sells for that...

Didn't yesterday seem like a Friday?...when I left the boys, I said 'see ya next week!'...

We were so fortunate...as the Big Bay Boom, was right outside our side deck...ah, we could clearly see it from there...for moi, it is way hard to get good pics of them booms...but, the video, is quite nice...

More info on the Chicago killer...such a disturbing set of posts by him on social network...from what I could see, a 22 yr old on a mission...to kill...more…he was dressed in women’s clothing…to get away with the crowd…he planned it for weeks…

I have a cure for the Padre hitting doldrums...not scientific, my good Friar friends...but switch up the lineup, and put the worst first...then the first 5 'sluggers' all bunt...then the last 4 hit away...repeat each time thru the lineup...and....for the relief corps demise...for every run, they give up...they must shag balls for an hour for each run given up...ah ha, reverse psychology...Stammen/Hill are permanent shaggers...

Read another of one of those best and worst things...countries that don't want Americans visiting...hey, how about these apples...for various reasons...obnoxious, lazy, personal viewpoints, USA viewpoints, litterbugs, unfriendly, and the best of all, throwing money around...kind of a wide range of stuff, right?...hmmm, most of the Middle East...and all of Communist held Russia...those who would shock you...Germany, Italy, and Australia...

Lip-syncing was an art that all of the singers used on 'The Dick Clark Show' for years and years...some still do it...not to name names, but one rhymes with Gutney...and another rhymes with Bear...

When does football start back up?...missing it more and more...

Time for your Horse history lesson...there will be a test following...when did the flipping of the middle finger, become a vulgar symbol?...I mean, you just didn't just start doing it, cuz...you knew what it meant...probably NOBODY even told you...alas, it started back in Ancient Greek times...yes, blame it on the Greeks...I, myself, never use it...I use the Bartlett taught version of anger, the circle...made by the thumb and pointy finger...in a perfect circle...to show at the offending person, usually in a car or rig...guess the meaning...

CBS '60 Minutes' did a repeat segment, well the whole show, on this group from the WWII, the Ritchie Boys...who were Jewish/Americans who wanted revenge on Germany, er, the Nazis...terrific piece about how they were used...primarily to interrogate Nazi prisoners, due to their speaking of German, and most had lived there...15,200 members in this special unit...'killed them with kindness' was their primary trait...dig into it, fascinating...one more thing they did...after the war was over...finding the Nazis...as all Germans said they were not, and were forced into doing what they did in the war...the Ritchie Boys sifted thru that, and got the perpetrators...ie, the SS...

Guess I am going to end with nostalgia today, too...my father did something that I never dreamt he would. signed us up for the Mickey Mouse Club...yes, the Horse was an honorary member...could hardly wait for the package to arrive...the ears...the certificate...signed personally, ah well, no one...it was all from a machine...made no diff...Annette was my fav...and Roy...big Roy...loved the Hardy Boys...this too, with my rookie Mickey Mantle baseball card, was lost in the move...all gone...forever...wonder if 'they' keep records of who was in?...somewhere in the annals of the company...
