Expect Greater?





There is a fine line between EXPECTING GREATER and LOWERING YOUR EXPECTATIONS...kind of like the glass of water, half full or half empty?...ah, the bloody stock market...as it has been dreadful...saw some bloke who was trying to make a name for himself, by declaring a recession is imminent...and others who say we are set for a big rebound...do you expect greater, or think lower?...

The daily life of you or me...waking up and dreading the day?...or, thinking that this is gonna be a stupendous one?...the nite before's problems...'sleep on it'...is it really better?...time heals most problems, so it seems...thus, sleeping for 6-8 hours HAS to help, right?... I'm one that is the next day is going to be remarkable...sure, you can dwell on the past, but c'mon...we must live the days we have...brightly...

Imagine the lives of those who inhabit Ukraine...attacks, bombs. missiles, Russian infantry, and a daily does of death...all around them...what type of expectations must they have?...rhetoric by the Senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul...actually 'understanding' the actions of Putin...give us all a break...'they once owned Ukraine'...Britain once owned America, too...Mexico owned Texas...I can see why his neighbor beat the wholly crap out of him...

Part of the process of expectations...is the key word 'anticipation'...and the song about it...by the legendary singer, Carly Simon...the set up...quite often is much greater than the actual happening...but, that is just great...into the minds of humans, this looking forward to something...is extraordinary pleasure in the brain...brings you to a level of euphoria...

Of course the opposite may be true...'dreading' an occurrence...like the annual physical...the blood test...the probing and all...egads...your personal preparation for it...trying to be a good person for a week, or so...no doubt, your greater and lower, are all part of this...yea, this for moi, is next week...

Interesting tidbit...the city that has more people moving into south SoCal...like here...San Diego...guess...it is LaLa...Los Angeles...the exit from the rat race...the odious freeway driving...yup, the people want a quieter life...here...but, can't they leave their Bum jerseys in their departed city?...we have SD jerseys for sale...

The NBA playoffs...I do recall the excitement it bought to all of Orygun, when the Blazers were in it...the cities that are now hosting, are just as excited...near rabid...it's cool...Memphis, Tennessee?...they need it...imagine this, that LA and NYC are OUT!...it is now the so called 'small market' teams...

The Pads rebounded with a solid 9-6 over Cincy in Ohio...oh my, there was hardly anyone there...a far cry from yesteryear, when you could hardly score a ticket...BTW, one of the key items on the web net, is the bashing of 1B Hosmer...it is all quiet on the southern front right now...as he is leading the National League in hitting at .390!...

Do you get an overabundant amount of ads in your email?...I sure do...one was really funny...a shirt for an extrovert...isn't that me?...or am I an introvert?...can an introvert buy an extrovert shirt and become one?...

We are hosting an 'Oregonian' based din din tonight...everything has connection to the state...well, except the fish...which is coming from the Pacific, perhaps, who have swum down the coast like from the PNW...the fine Oregon wines...the Tillamook Ice Cream...well, most of what we are serving is from there...the Horse is cooking Seafood Fettuccine as the main course...as all football coaches do, pray for me...

Banning books...Hitler did that...some people, elected ones, have way too much time on their hands...to sit and come up with things that they do...no more than the Floridian bloke and guv, DeSantis...he needs the same fate of the politician on 'Oh Brother, Where Art Thou'...

Gonna leave you today with this...if I could design a tee shirt for you all to wear, it would be of a peace sign...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
