Closing Out





'Close Outs', like one of the raging phrases in the hoop world...as the game is often decided by the 3 ball...somehow bother the shooter, that is 'casting it off' from long range...which was the commentary back when I played...he was always 'casting it off'...now, most everyone does...ruined the fluidity of the game...

Shooters want to go where they can 'cast it off'...not where they have to defend and run an, gulp, offense...oh well...the ladies final game, was more of old school...the bigs beat the littles...decidedly...the Horse missed this one...more, cuz of what I have been saying for the past month...that UConn was the team to watch...

South Carolina had the best players...that played like the best...and the guards from UConn were not on...the recipe perfect for the Gamecocks...from the get go...as they CLOSED OUT their season, without a doubt as the champ team...

Tonight, the guys do their thang...I don't see much of a match...Kansas will dominate and win...here is the Horse truth...the Jayhawks are better at 4/5 positions...better than North Carolina...thus, the W...

The Grammy's...better than usual...which, in the past 20 years or so, has been dreadful...the host, Trevor Noah, was absolutely splendid...kept the show on a movin...of course, I know a few of the 'artists', but not many...none worse than the Bieber...I did like the country stuff...Chris Stapleton was right on...Carrie's new song is so so...but she is fab...Gaga got a lot of raves, but, I thought she was perfectly awful...it is what it is...

A gaggle of helicopters over the city right now...wonder what is going on...a sign of not good stuff...

The LaLa Lakers lost again...I am happy...

Sarah Palin got endorsed by trump, calling her 'smart'...well, to him, she is...much smarter than orange...

Say it ain't so, and a curse of the worst magnitude...the Biebs performed in a SD Padre cap...OMG!...

The Biebs costume to enter the arena was a bomb...er, the bomb...10 sizes too big...with a pink stocking cap...nice, is he still 16?...'mom, here is my boy friend, the Biebs'...wait, 'my husband'...

Speaking of faces, the mask cover up in SD is done in the schools...still in place on mass transit...am hoping that by the time we start flying again, they will be lifted there, too...

We r entering a warm week for the south SoCal region...like up to the 80's by the end of it...

It costs as much to wash my car, as it does for one gallon of petrol...who'd a thunk...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
