The Thrill of Victory, the Agony of Defeat...




ABC's Jim McKay, his line at the start of the Wide World of Sports..."The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat"...gosh, the Horse watched that show most every time it came on...or so it seemed...well, it applied to the Russian 15 yr old ice skater...who has been the talk of the Winter Olympics...as early this am, our time...she fell multiple times and ended in 4th...which makes the doping part of it all, a sad commentary...

The thrills...man, did watch 2 hoop games that blew me away...my hated Lakers won, over the not so Jazz...in LaLa, as Utah blew a huge lead...and LeBron took over in the 4th...he can do this...perhaps, his 37 years of age dictates when to play and when to cruise...he was tough...and then...the Warriors lost again...at home...to the Nuggets...as the big guy from Denver was way toooooo much for GS...Nikola Jokic...was so dominant, that it was like 5 guys were trying to stop him...really...

Must add the Blazers won again...golly, they do play hard and it's 4 in a row...at Memphis...

OK, back to the Ukraine...was reading an article about the Russian need for the area...according to this reporter, it is not as easy as a need for energy...could be more like...Putin wants to re-establish the USSR...bring back into Russia's fold, what they lost in the Cold War...the answers are not clear, just more speculation...

Prez Biden expects that Russia will invade the Ukraine in the next several days....lord, please, no 'shock and awe'...

I can't make this up...Britney...yes, Britney Spears...says she is healing and ready to "take life by the balls"....what on earth does that mean?...is there some form of metaphor there?...

Not healing, is the infamous Tiger Woods...who a year ago, was involved in a massive car crash...and his body has yet to cure...he is hosting the T in LaLa this week...

Am deeply into the book written by the pathologist Cyril Wecht...on the assassination of JFK...if true, the amount of times that our Prez got shot was more than what the Warren Commission told us...'The JFK Assassination Dissected'...read it and judge for yourself...

OK, Snooki, you who disagree with moi, wholeheartedly on this...how on earth did Oswald, with little or no money, travel all over the bloody World...Germany, Russia, England, USA, Mexico, and live in multiple sites...paying with what?....never working for more than a week anywhere...very intriguing...or, very very sad...and how did the FBI know all about him, and do nothing?...or did they?...

Let's just say...you are a pro golfer...and this company comes along and asks you to join their new, goshfangled multi-bucked tour...however, NOT IN THE USA, and the stipend to join...they give YOU $30 million bucks!...would you do it?...rumor has it, Lefty said yes, as did a couple of Euros...and DeChamboo is strongly considering...did I see they wanted 30 blokes?...

You have by now heard of the death of Bob Saget...blows to the head that caused the death...speculation that it was due to the headboard...ah ha...more than one blow, it is rumored...so he got so distraught, that he kept banging his head on the headboard over and over?...really?...something smells to me...

Nobody guessed the song yesterday....it was Nelly Furtado...will try one more...a line from a song...'I'm gonna keep drinking', until I'm petrified'...no cheatin'...no google...just a guess...winner gets a signed MAGA cap...ah, just kidding...I am keeping that...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
