The Day After


In my awful cold that I somehow picked up in the desert...have had numerous hours to stare at the pixels...and one show came out loud and clear...on the History Channel...number 55 on our list...as it showed an absolutely brilliant portrayal of what the country and our president did THE DAY AFTER the bombing of Pearl Harbor... actually, detailing in minutes and hours...

So many disastrous happenings...as we saw the lack of communication in the days of the early 40's...so many sketchy things that got to the President, FDR...as he went through the painful decision of how to address what just happened...fearing, more so, how vulnerable the country was at that time...wondering if there were to be more attacks on the USA...like mainland...

Franklin D Roosevelt...Talk about painful, was his inability to walk and this was due to polio...it took him an hour to get dressed...as he had to be helped thru the process...all hidden from the public, as to keep out the thought, that our leader was disabled...too much to go into, suffice to say you need to find the show...tape it...and then fast forward thru the endless commercials...


If you are a history buff, you will find this extremely informative...maybe you already knew most of this...but, certainly not all of it...fascinating...

Let's move on...

First on the docket, is who the Duck brass is gonna hire for the vacated football coach position...man, I have heard so many names bantered about...I jested in telling Snooki that Lane Kiffin was in the mix...promptly got a call...ha ha....wait, it may not be a joke after all...really...Chip?...too many sources say that he would jump at the shot at returning to Eugene...the Baylor coach, is waiting to sign his contract there...a sign?...the recently fired dude from Florida...the BYU coach...seriously, I have seen like 10 names...

NBA...woah be the Blazers...Dame is out and now CJ, has a collapsed lung...without those two, not only can they not win...but, the guy who hired Chauncey Billups was fired, and I fear, out goes Chauncey, too...a mess, Portland, a mess...the Nets and the Lakers won, and I don't like either of them...ha ha...

I love to watch college football, but not college basketball...odd, right?...'set it up!'...'what's that, coach?'...

You a People's Choice Award's follower?...nope, not me...read that KK won something...really, for what?...most altered body of all time?...

Somehow, thru all this, that, and whatever, we have forgot that Christmas in coming up...I would say that outside my window, there is less than 10% Xmas trees up right now...disappointing...c'mon folks, get with it...

The Stock Market did really have a big day, after the Futures suggested so...super...so, the Futures today say another good day, but not great...let's see if it follows...

Pfizer says their booster shot, protects agains the Omicron variant...damn, of course, we have the Moderna...does it?...

OK, so you are looking for a fam Xmas present...if you haven't done this yet, here you go...the new Keurig coffee machine is fantastic...makes all those pods come alive with flavor...do it...my close friends have done so, and are lurving it...'close?'...well...yea...

Staying in that mood...if you want to just sit back and enjoy beautiful music...put the Carrie Underwood Xmas vinyl on the turntable...and mellow out...have a glass of the bubbly...and chill...

What's happening in FOX land?...well, their Christmas tree is ablaze...and that's just terrible...equally as terrible...Tucker (rhyme) Carlson, has agreed with Russia in their arms build up vs the Ukraine...that it is wrong for Prez B to try to stop a Russian invasion...I say, put Tucker (rhyme) on the front lines and see if he still feels that way...

Remember the Yugo?...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
