The Best (and Worst) of '21

Geez, that sounds like the vinyl that Jefferson Airplane put out...back when...'the Worst of Jefferson Airplane'...which indeed, was...of course, I own one...absolutely dug the Grace Slick sound...in my collegiate days...which brings me to...the Best ( and Worst) of '21...

One has to scratch real deep to find good in what just happened...another pandemic year, spiraling down by the variant Omicron...as there was promise early in the months...then 'BAM'...more virus...talking about other things, where is the BEST?...can we say, to be that, we have to find things that were better than the rest?...good, but not great...

The music business is disheartening...name me one song that came out this year, that you know....er, hum to...or even know a few lyrics...name me one...it's all on the web net now...so, is there a BEST?...nope, the WORST...

The Stock Market has been a major plus for us...really, I have no good reason why it is...other than we invested in the Apple and the electric cars...and trusted our good man, JJ, to guide us thru the rest...has to be the BEST...

Battered and bruised...the doctors, nurses, and the hospitals...dealing with yet another year of viruses...deadly ones...easily the BEST...as they deal with the WORST situations since a hundred years ago...

The sporting world...trying to go on...with so many players and coaches who seemingly...have their own idea of protection...there has been bright lights, but, most are dim...take a look at the extreme numbers that fail to pass tests...cancel games...the WORST...

For all of the naysayers about these next 2...where would we be without them?....Amazon and Costco...as we can shop from home...and or stock up on necessities, if the times dictate...for us, the BEST...

The Jan 6 coup...so much that has come out...as why and how, trump tried to overturn the people's vote...sabotage...in our history, the WORST...

trump banned from Twitter...who gets banned?...how can that happen?...not even sure where to put this...so, I will just make the statement, and leave it alone...all by himself...itself...it's like the BEST and WORST all together...

Two recent deaths of some great men....John Madden and Harry Reid...that helped shape the country in their own ways...Madden in football, and Reid in Congress...they were the BEST...

New to me...YouTube...that allowed us to venture thru a myriad of old vids and music...some not so old...that made our pandemic year not so bad...the BEST...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

The Ignominy

So much for diplomacy ... the absolute embarrassment by the current President of the US...his actions in 'hosting' the Ukranian President Zelensky ... as it turned out, a highly visual representation of bullying by trump...the manners and methodology that he uses on people...aligned with his arse kissers, waiting their turn to take potshots at Zelenksy...all well orchestrated ...it was the ULTIMATE IGNOMINY of our country's 'leader'...unfortunately, for us, too...as somehow we are connected to that ogre...in reality, we are not... hoping the rest of the World can see that...here are samples of the headlines throughout that depict the sentiment of the slaughter... We are NOT aligned with Putin...WE ARE NOT!...trump is ...which begs a different query...how much longer can this idiocy go on?... I keep asking this...what does Putin have on trump, anyway...it must be a formidable foible... Talk to me, kids... This ploy of the orange...to actually simulate a firing squa...

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
