Around the Horn

Baseball lingo?...yup, but what I am referring to, is the ESPN show, 'Around the Horn'...kind of a goofy way to have some 'pundits' talk about what just happened and what may happen in the sports world...4 cats talking and the moderator giving points to what they say...in his own estimation...a judge of sorts...anyhoo, one of the elders of the telecast is a bloke from Denver, Woody Paige...who not only has been on it the longest, but has won the most shows...his pride and joy happened just yesterday...was asked who would win game 2 of the World Series...his response "the Astros by a score of 7-2"...ah, what was the real outcome of the game?...the Houston Astros won it, by an eery score of 7 to 2!...

More TV stuff...you been watching 'Survivor' this season?...4o some seasons that this show has gone on...and still a hit with moi...the ultimate cat and mouse strategy game there is...amazing how some people can stay 'alive' in the fray, when they have very little physical abilities...do so via their brain, I reckon...or social skills...imagine donny doing this...

Speaking of out of his element...the Horse walked the course yesterday...kind of out of necessity...it is cart path only...the problem is, they have over sodded and not cut the grass for awhile...like walking in sand...and for some reason, there are NO BENCHES to sit on throughout the course...Covid related?...I dunno...this was my own form of survivor, as when I got home, the response was "what on earth happened to you?"...I think the non-sitting part was the worst...no place to rest the sorry arse Horse parts...

I can't overestimate (underestimate?) the quality of the new Keurig coffee machine...listen, kids, I am the ultimate coffee connoisseur...this thing does it better than anything out there...trust the Horse on this...not sure if it is still $99 bucks at Costco...half price...do it and let me know...

He still has some part of an impact...but the trump has let it be known he will attend the game 4 of the World Series in Atlanta...not sure what will be more prevalent, the chop, the booze, or the boooooooos....???...

Speaking of boos (well, booze, too)...the Laker signed Russ Westbrook...he is a talent...so is Kyrie...but, there are guys that don't FIT well on a TEAM...make it more of themselves...worse in basketball than any other TEAM sport...these are two guys that represent this mode...they don't FIT...seems like a lot of TEAMS and franchises try to FIT them in...but, it doesn't work...this will not in LaLa, too...

OK, here are my 2 picks for the weekend in the NFL...do as you want with these, but I am as strong as Woody Paige, ah, thus far...the Cowboys over the Vikings (BUT, if the QB Prescott can't go, this is reversed)...and, the Rams to cover the spread (14.5) over the Texans...some doozies, too...the Chargers hosting the Pats...and Jax at the Seahawks...closer than you think...

College games...the Ducks over Colorado...a let down game...eery shenanigans...Mich at Mich St...toss up...Oreg St at Cal, hmmm...Fresno St at SDSU, the for real game...Penn St at Ohio St, figure the Buckeyes in a breeze...and Georgia at Florida...watch out for the Gators here...whatever happened to Clemson, and the 'great' coach they have?...

Tonight we head on out to El Cajon to the Magnolia...we have never been at this venue...to see the lady sanger, Sara Evans...how many times is this?...5 or 6, maybe more...she is rockin, kids...8 pm kick off...late for us...so, might have to nap this afternoon...ha ha...
