Rock Bottom

There are no words better, or worse, than hitting ROCK BOTTOM!...as we have done just that...the mighty (?) Padres have been bombarded by the not so low DBacks in Arizona...this last game was a doozy...gave up 5 runs in the FIRST!...and to make matters worse, lost to a no-hitter...all the hype of a super team, gone...to a rookie's first start in the bigs...here we go...team meeting...blah blah blah...do these ever work?...we shall see...

The Taliban have engulfed K(h...?)abul...deja vu, Saigon?...they say that they want a peaceful transfer of power...as we try to get out our people and those who helped us, while we were there...listen kids, taking over a country is one thing...to stay and help a regime, another...how'd that work for South Vietnam?...right...this is truly ROCK BOTTOM!....

BREAKING...Afghan President Ghani has left the country...it is now officially in shambles...

For the life of me, and those who still believe in anti-vax...for us all...I don't comprehend their plight...we have a significant amount of people who refuse to get vaccinated...then refuse to MASK up...what on earth are they thinking?...send their kids back to school and then...are upset that they get the Covid...

If you like your football...the NFL Network played a full day of it yesterday...most teams play their 2nd and 3rd string dudes...watched the Rams and the Chargers last eve...the starters did not play...so, who's backups are better?...listen, those who were out there, were playing HARD...to make the team...BTW, two different productions were on local TV...for these...FOX carries the Rams...Mina Kimes is one of the 'experts?'...I don't get that...and CBS does the Chargers...and their feed was so bad, you could not hear the play by play...which begs me to ask, does anyone watch 'em?...another example of ROCK BOTTOM...

Haiti...the country has fallen on extreme hard times...an earthquake just shattered it...there is a couple of hurricanes that could come next...this after their Prez got assassinated last month...when you think of not making the cut in the PGA Tour, this doesn't even come close to what these people must endure...ROCK BOTTOM...

Some people make their living by doing what they always wanted to do...er, achieve...a cop, fireman, teacher, lawyer, doctor, biz person, politician, you know the drill...but now, there is a profession, that gets mega reviews...a social influencer...'when I grow up, momma, I wanna be a social influencer'...

Many units all around us are selling FAST!...for nice prices, too...might this be the right time for us?...where on earth would we go?...one place is too hot, one too cold, one too populated, one too old...perhaps, a fixer?...we like doing that...I dunno...guess we stay where we are...gosh, this weather is fantastic...

Actually, got me a new driver from the store 'Rock Bottom'...the same one that Rickey uses...well, the same company...a bad thing?...worth it to hear, 'nice drive, dude'...which is kinda funny, cuz most of the blokes I play with can't see past 100 yards...

Gonna end with this...nostalgia...my uncle Irving...used to run a dorm on the Warm Springs Indian School...many many moons ago...in central Oregon near Madras...during the summer, he invited me over for a week...as I was 15 or so...hung out with a kid there, that was my age...Hambone Wyatt's son...anyhoo...went fishing, golfing and the scariest of all, to a pow wow...we actually watched it thru the wood sideboards, that were cut out...it was rocking...BUT, my point is the stew that Irving made...I tried to recreate it last eve...chunks of roast, I cut up...huge mushrooms...carrots...celery...onions...which I simmered for like 3 hours...added some mushroom soup...and the taters...(my Sioux chef, Boss Lady, helped)...45 minutes later....it was done...mission accomplished...melted in our mouths...
