Dine and Dash?

There are things that change history...as minute as it may be...that happen that nobody can give an explanation for...moments that will cling for infamy...or beyond...ah, is there more?...it all started as a calm Monday eve...one with our friends at a downtown restaurant in Salem, Orygun...

The names have been changed to protect the innocent, er, or guilty...allegedly...we were 6...SIX...dining in an incubator, that had no, if any ventilation...no AC...no fans...no nuttin...6 feet apart from others?...I think not...no masks...and certainly, no one adorned with MAGA caps on...but, from my vantage point, all were forevers...

The service was fine...having to adjust their pace to fit the slow cooking of...whatever...of the SIX, half the meals were good, and the others were far from it...as we ALL were sweating with the oldies...I kid you not...gumming was the point of order...how long does it take to chew a slab of steak?...is there a time limit?...30 seconds?...a minute?...I digress...

After 2 hours of losing weight in the restaurant...how often does THAT happen?...we all decided it was time to depart...then, of course, the waitress was hard to find... so the Horse suggested we split up and head on out...the ladies would go in one rig, and the boys in the other...we handed the credit card to one of the gals...not our server...here is where it gets foggy...

THE assumption was the Boss Lady would sign the bill...and hers was that the Horse would...the boys exited and were half the way down the street...and RUNNING from afar, was our waitress...of course, NOW she appears...with the bill in hand...SIR!!!...(me?)...'you haven't paid your bill!'...back I went to do so...explaining to her, that the Boss Lady was gonna do it...let's just say, I am sure she wasn't buying it...noting that she must not trust us indiginous people...

It does not end there...the next thing I see...is on that same street...Boss Lady running at moi...calling me every name she can think of...NOT the complimentary ones...BTW. ALL the ladies sided with her...the men, with me...just like politicians...

Yes, my good friends, it was great to be back in our old home town...
