'Hey, I have these tickets to the tourney, and I'm not sure if they are for this game or not...it says Abilene Christian on them...'...'I'm sorry, sir, but this is the Division 1 BIG DANCE, not the Division 2 or 3 event...are you sure you are in the right place?'...'ah, wait, it also says University of Texas on them'...'well, then, they are the right ones'...'this will be a joke, right?'...

Perhaps, no bigger a mismatch than can be...UT has over 51,000 undergrads...they are the Longhorns...'The Eyes of Texas are Upon You'...I mean, there is power upon power...they have the infamous Shaka Smart as the coach...hey, he used to be bald headed, right?...looks weird...big favorites over...

Abilene Christian...3400 undergrads...just recently gone D-1...that fields a team of mismatched athletes...some big, some tiny, some seemingly out of shape...but, my oh my, they do play hard...


Somehow, AC beat UT...yes kids, it is true...they did NOT shoot over 30% from the field, even worse from the 3 ball, under 20%...a player, who is the worst FT shooter on their team, hit 2 at the end...and the victory was won...can you say 'Hoosiers?'...of course, for that to be a truth, they have to win it all...

This tourney has had some doozies...it is said that there are NO perfect brackets left in all of the ESPN entries...I believe that...Ohio ( the other one) beat Virginia...Oregon beat VCU 2-0, as the latter had Covid related problems, and had to forfeit...all Pac 12 teams WON!...6-0...Gonzaga looked great in game 1...I would bet you this...start a new bracket right now...and no one would master it...

The King (LeBron James) went down...this game of hoops...so hard to stay on your feet...the jumping, the twisting, the planting, the stop and go...eventually you will be shelved...he has an high ankle sprain....usually 3 weeks...couple that with the Brow and his achilles prob...this team is in dire straits...the LaLa Lakers...

Gosh, I am pulling so hard for the former Duckee, Aaron Wise, to win at the Bear Trap...but, he was a falling apart throughout the final 9 yesterday...hard to play, with one hand on your throat...PGA, kids...

Miami Beach has asked for help...Spring Break is outta control....maskless kids again...and lots of 'em...I'm sure most without Covid shots...

Snooki sent this one out last nite...as he was watching a flick 'Liberty Valance'...featuring John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart (the older elder PNW senior citizen likes the shoot 'em up cowboy movies)...the title song out of it...'The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance' by Gene Pitney...which was NEVER used in the film...contract crap...Pitney did some songs that were hits 'Town Without Pity', 'It Hurts To Be In Love'...but also wrote for others...'Rubber Ball' for Bobby Vee...'Hello Mary Lou' for Rick Nelson, and one of my absolute favs of all time 'He's A Rebel' by the Crystals...

Yup, there are some similarities to coach...Gene Hackman in 'Hoosiers', by Abilene Chrisitan's Joe Golding...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
