The Cecil Hotel

Lost in the national intrigue of moving to Los Angeles...ah, LA...er, LaLa Land...Caleefornia...that's the place to be...the ocean, the mild weather, the palm trees, the Dodgers (Bums), and the carefree living...is the affordability factor, that most don't figure in...it is spendy, kids...so, if you come to LA with an idear about getting lost in the new found culture for you...be aware...here we go...a perfect series in Netflix that might just scare your sox off...

Right downtown...there are 'affordable' hotels...unfortunately with checkered pasts...there is a good chance that you might not find that out on Google...they change the names, slap on some paint, and add a different entry point...thing is, the hotels are in Skid Row...just as bad as the name implies...the series that I am referring to is 'The Cecil Hotel'....

Now if you are just passing thru...on your way to paradise, ah San Diego....you will avoid this...probably staying on the beach in Malibu, Huntington Beach, Laguna Beach, perhaps, Venice Beach...there is a list of 'em...the word to the wise, is stay close to the Pacific...enough of the Yelp help for your journey...let's get back to the story...

About 8 years ago, there was this 21 yr old gal, from Canada...that went missing...while staying at the Cecil...Elisa Lam...that is what the series is all about...4 parter...I won't tell you much more, as I would ruin your viewing...but, the hotel also was the staying place for a couple of mass murderers in the region...namely, like the Night Strangler, Richard Ramirez, for one...

It is now closed...bought and sold...to a renovator...the shell still exists...the name was changed to 'Stay On Main'...and is set to reopen...I reckon soon...I dunno...

Moving on...as you should...ha ha...the incredible ice storms and snow storms...throughout the land...the power outages that so many people are blaming, well, somebody...you who have generators, be careful...they need ventilation...I see the downed tress, that have existed for 100 years!...that have succumbed to the ice...and unfortunately, there is one more coming their way...which has stalled the shipment of Covid vaccines...tragic for all...

The mighty Padres...got just a little worried about their star young SS...Tatis Junior...so they signed him for 14 years for $340 million bucks...how many bitcoins is that?...the face of the Pads, and we will be a danger, Will Rogers, for some time to come...this is a good thang...

The Blazers won again...is that 6 in a row?...while on the road...hey, it is different with no fans, but still...you are playing in their arena...the Warriors keep winning, too...again, they are more athletic...and the team out of the pack, thus far...the Jazz...are dominating the west...beat the Clip Joint...I should do a spot on the local TV station...

I am NOT a tennis follower...but, did see that the youngin....Osaka beat Serena...I think that those who like to watch tennis, don't like to watch golf...and vice versa...

Snooki's song of the day...'Any Time At All' by the Beatles...the lead and major writer of this song was John Lennon...and a cover of it was done by the older elder PNW's fav, Nils Lofgren...very interesting...

Texas appears to be one of the states that is being hit hardest by the freeze and lack of power...know where their very own Senator is?...Teddy Cruz?...flying into Cancun...I kid you not...I guess the state doesn't need his help...BREAKING...there is backlash, Teddy...so he is flying back to Texas...bye bye Mexico...AND, Teddy is requesting a police escort home...ah, I thought that that was his people that love him...why the escort?...

Taylor Swift...had all her songs stolen from her...hmmm, well the originals were sold outright...so she is re-recording them...which I think is cool...I lurved her first album she ever did...heard one of her remakes and it is splendid...

Well, the Horse got a thorn up his craw...decided to shave off his white and gray, scraggly old beard...oh my, the result is a scraggly old face, with lines every which way...NOW, I see the need for the beard...
