There is No Torch

The power of the presidency will change...in 5 days...the norm...the normal pattern of it, will not...there is no torch...there will be a passing of people, but not in the White House...no formal meeting...no shaking of hands...nope, no nuttin...did you expect anything else from trump?...at least he is leaving, without a military escort...or secret service...whatever they would have had to do...or, on a rail...

In the interim, he is scowling at everyone left...reportedly, by all...blaming the total lot of his 'loyalists' who turned on him...he has some tasks that are still to be done...as he went berserk, with news that he got IMPEACHED again...sifting thru his array of lawyers, who will try to defend him in the Senate Trial...the first two, who did so in the original trial, said 'no thanks'....he has people to pardon...imagine that list to be very long...he is beckoning a big sendoff from the White House...ah ha, that may be a problem...not the most likable bloke in the country...he despises the symmetry to Prez Nixon...sorry, dude, but it's there...forever...the money issue, how is he going to fund all the problems he is leaving with?...

As all of us wait...and hope the inauguration of the NEW PRESIDENT, goes off without a hitch...judging by the barricades and the number of troops there...looks like we are ready for most anything...equally thinking, for the states, too... be prepared...as we return to proper leadership...and get the respectability that we once had in the World...BACK...Prez Joe Biden, and VP Kamala Harris, we welcome you with more than open arms...

The lil lady's birthday...you know, with this pandemic and all...the closures of most everything...the celebration of it, becomes more difficult...gone is the meal at Eddie V's...the temp here in south SoCal has gone up and off the charts...so we took the convertible and headed to the beach...ah ha, we were not the only ones with that idear...humongous lines...aborted that, and headed to the bay...Shelter Island...great alternative...set up the Cadillac chairs and mellowed out...watching the boats and all...alas, I promised a scallops dinner, that the Horse would cook...off to a fresh fish market...we went...turns out we went to the wrong Point Loma Fish House...no prob, they had 'em too...spendy, $32 a lb...but, they were awesome...BTW, the best we have ever had...nuff said...

I talked a bit yesterday, about the Beard's move to Brooklyn...the more I read, watched, and heard...my intuition appears to be right on...Kyrie isn't digging it...he is a handful, kids...I'd rid myself of him ASAP...'he's a bird dog'...

According to the Pew Research, trump's approval rating is now at 29%...!...are there that many forevers?...

Way off the board here...but in MLB, how long is a closer effective?...albeit, some have lasted many seasons...but, most not...what is it?...3 years?...4?...not more than that...
