Minority Coaches

I have no answer to this....but I have queries...with a solid amount of black players in the NFL...ah, the pro football league...the league has but a few black head coaches...TWO!...and only 4 of color...well, of anything other than white...hmmm, and NO black owners...there are two people of color that own franchises...a South Korean, and a Pakistan-born American...did I say that right?...32 TEAMS!...what does this mean?...anything?...can the commish Roger Goodell do anything to affect this?

The league has a way, of firing coaches willy nilly...after losing seasons...and by the league, I mean the fat cats that own the franchises...what was it this past year, 6?...nope, 7...and how many have rehired already?...all of 'em...and how many black coaches have replaced them?...NONE!...there are a number of assistant coaches that are black...many have been said to be 'highly qualified' by their own head coaches...yea, the white ones...

It wasn't that long ago, that the hot statement...was that quarterbacks couldn't be black...recall this, kids?...sure you do...the 'Skins Doug Williams, sort of changed that thinking...lord, when we say that we are truly integrated...just look at the NFL for some doubting...

I'm sure through my many years of blogging, I probably talked about my personal dealings with this topic...minority coaching...as I got drilled one night, by one of my player's parents...with this statement... 'Pete, I'm not sure you can coach our kind'....shoulda had a lawyer...this is high school...for sure, it bled right into my system...penetrated my psyche like no other...at that time, and right now, as I rekindle that statement...made me, and makes me wonder...why did I ever do this?...our kind?...I digress...

The stock market...what on earth is going on?...the numbers were up yesterday, but not ours...go figure...back to those fat cats...they know...they own the NFL teams, and they probably own lots of stock, too...they probably call each other and tell them what to buy...and sell, too...damn them...Martha Stewart did that, and got caught...and had to spend time in the pokey...don't think I have ever heard of a NFL owner locked up...she was not an owner...

The rains have hit here...'we need it'...right...not this much...it'll be gone by tomorrow and will probably not appear much for the rest of the winter, or spring...

Hey kids...we succumbed to the need of the air fryer...did loads of studying...the best prices...the best reviews...the sizes...turned out, that we went to Costco and got the one that looked the purtiest...ha ha...Emeril's...used it last eve, on a no brainer...Johnsonville's Brats...they were terrific...but, to be fair, usually are...tonight?...shrimp...we shall see...12 quart?...seems big...enough to do a rotisserie chicken...which we will do...

The Farmers has round 1 done...today will be a test for sure...if they even play...one of the bloody leaders, is the highly unlikeable Patrick Reed...well, he is to me...so weird to not be able to get out there and watch....Torrey Pines...

One of the things that has been hitting the Facebook lately...the pix of yesteryear...the old San Diego...so interesting...same for Salem, Oregon...the history of it all....fascinating, kids...absolutely love it...

Hey, Marsh's birthday present arrived last eve...2 weeks late...I think she likes the haul...she is one of them, 'great gift receivers'...as my dad would say...even if she didn't like it, she would never show that...hear that word 'gift', son?...

So...I ordered a 5 wood...the missing link of my set...210 yds...so, what do I give up?...have 3 wedges...9-2 iron (no 3)....I use the 2 lots...driver, 3 wood, and hybrid...and the putter...count 'em...I guess the hybrid has to go...use it the least...

Even you most passionate Repubs, have to have some reservations about Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene, Georgia...there has to be someone else, that can fill her seat...anyone else...

Finally, on our way back from Costco yesterday...the lines of cars waiting to get into the Vaccine station at Petco, was all the way out to G St...this is bad...and this is good...that so many peops are getting the shot...but, the wait, egads...
