9/11

One of those moments in time...that we shall never forget...the destruction of USA, in substance and in the psyche...by a sinister plot using passenger airplanes...we were caught, with our guard down...for whatever reasons...it happened...much like Pearl Harbor...these things don't happen to us...9/11/01...

It's like when JFK was shot, we can recall where we were, what we were doing...the same for this...we were in Sunriver at our condo...had just dropped off our son in college...Pomona, in Claremont, Cali...woke up early and were watching the tele...shocked and in despair...what was going on?...nobody knew...as it unraveled...we promptly packed up and hurried home...hunkered down...and waited...and watched...saddened and truly, a bit afraid of what was next...

We were in NYC, just a week or so before all this happened...as Cris was looking, or previewing dental schools...it could have been us on those planes...I'm sure you have stories, too...the loss of lives was devastating...as we heard the chants of our leaders 'never again!'...I hope that this is true...

OK...let's move on...

The mighty Padres...won again...are peaking at the right time...closing in on the hated Bums...really?...really...beat the Giants last eve at Petco...Manny hit a monster HR...Mitch had a 2 run double...and the relief staff split the entire game...hang on to your caps, kids...it is happening...

Did not watch a single minute of the NFL game last eve...I dunno...maybe this Sunday...

Is there a better interviewer on the pixels now than Rachel Maddow?...of course, you forever T'ers...will say Hannity...to each his own...

It was way before my time, but I have to believe a fireside chat would be better than a morning Tweet...

The fires up and down the west coastline...the one just north of Sac is now called the worst in Cali history...the ones in Oregon, are still burning...there is a rain storm that may hit on Tuesday there...fingers crossed...

I just don't get it...as Orange is barnstorming...his audience is anything but social distancing...let's not even get into the mask thing...and he is babbling about...knowing full well, what he said in January...'that the virus spreads thru the air'...'faster than the touch'...yet he continues to put his followers thru EXACTLY that...is that criminal?...

Snooki's song of the day...'Burnin' for You' by Blue Oyster Cult...are there really blue oysters?...BTW, the numbers for the air quality in Oregon this am...Salem is 185, Eugene is 325, and Bend is 488!...all unhealthy and hazardous...oh my...
