What's Going On?

A RIOT is declared!...so goes the challenged cities of Seattle and Portland...this is not what we want...but, it is a direct result of comments coming out of the mouth of Trump...inasmuch as boasting of watching the Portland Mayor squirm, in so many words...does he think that his storm trooping ways will work?...not hardly...just more examples of inadequacy in the White House...'push a button, and that will stop the problem'...as he gets out and plays some golf with his new buddy, Brett Favre...all the while, the Pacific Northwest urban areas are in chaos...the headlines, say 'throughout the country'...a horrific day for this 'leader'...Republicans, come to your senses...and do the right thing...

This has not been a main item in the national news, thus far...it will be today...stay tuned...be very aware as to how this guy responds...what he does...is he capable?...you can judge for yourself...thus far this morning, no Tweets concerning the situation...

Let's go elsewhere...

The WNBA kicked off their season yesterday...my interest is due to the Oregon grads playing in the league...prior to the initial game, as the Anthem was played...the players left the floor...the significance?...as to not kneel?...anyway, the game is fast paced...multi-talented gals, for sure...I dunno, I think I prefer the college play a bit more...

The mighty Padres...which has been my lead for the past 2 days...won their 2nd in a row!...undefeated!...as we got solid pitching again...Lamet, hurling at 100 mph!...and got dingers from Will Myers (really) and Manny...in a 5-1 victory...going for number 3 at 1:10...this afternoon...maybe, just maybe...

The ploy by the owners...fill some of the lower seats with cutouts of people...pipe in fake crowd noise...does it help?...does it work?...what's your take?...I have not heard from the players, like, their angle...

Snooki's song of the day...'Summer Breeze' by Seals and Croft...you know, we saw them in concert at the Oregon St Fair, a good while ago...they were like 45 minutes late...couldn't find the venue...BTW, the PNW lad informed me of a gem on YouTube...EJD's Teen Party...ah, something like that...a documentary on the days of ours back when...in Salem, Oregon...about my old 8th grade math teacher, Ed Dougherty...who turned into a major concert producer...as he brought all the major acts to the, get this, Salem Armory...Paul Revere and the Raiders, the Doors, Sonny and Cher, the Mamas and Papas...ah, the list goes on and on...fun flick to watch...and no, I didn't see myself in any of the old pix...but, I was there for many of 'em...'64-'70...

Sad note...the passing of Regis Philbin...88 years of age...he was a staple for many years on the pixels...

John Elway...the head of operations of the NFL Denver Broncos...he was the old QB star of the team, too...let this gem out today...'you kneel on my field and you are fired on the spot'...wonder who his vote goes to?...this ought to be a very interesting time for this franchise...
