July Juxtaposition

The new month is here...July...heralded as the summer times treat...the celebration of the 4th...beach trip, outdoor barbecue, a few suds a flowing, the family gathering, and of course, the fireworks...hmmm, probably all gone...er, missing this time around...add this to the list of things that are put on hold...while...we all endure this pandemic...waiting, for the cure...gosh...and other 4 letter words...

We ventured out yesterday, seeking some refuge...filled the gas tank up on the car...drove out to Mission Beach, for a walk on the sand...no more than that...get the body moving...egads, the place was absolutely slammed!...and way too many folks not wearing the masks...c'mon people...don't do it, and we will all lose the right to be there...

This spike in the numbers of Covid...does not surprise me, with all the protest marches of a couple of weeks ago...'they' say it is not due to that, but fuggit about it...of course, it is...well, partly that...and the opening up...just had to be...put your guard down, and this will occur...

Baggage...those who are supporters of Orange...and are seeking reelection to their political office...there is a pattern that has emerged...they are getting hammered!...pay close attention to the Senate seats...we keep wondering...will the Repub brass rethink the Trump endorsement?...and, open up the convention to others?...stay tuned...

To follow that last segment up...this just out from the Pew Research Center...87% of the Americans are dissatisfied with the direction that this country is going!...ah, 87%!...staggering numbers, that I have never, ever, seen before...which means, even his base has splintered off...

Think about this...one of the ways that pro sports pays their players...is to defer payments...thus, when they sign a bloke for 60 million clams, they don't give him that up front, but, so much every year...such is the case for the NY Mets and Bobby Bonilla...who will get $1.1 million bucks EVERY year until he is 72!...now that is rich...

You just knew this was gonna happen...after the Tulsa debacle for the Trump revival...where only 1/3rd of the stadium was filled...or, not filled...the campaign organizer has subsequently been fired...by Jared...who, appears to be in the drivers seat...of Huge Orange's limo...

I brought this up at last nite's zoom mtg ( a fun one, I might add)...how can the pundits think that the Blazers have a chance in the NBA playoffs?...as, my good buddy, the coach of coaches, LG...'with the new rules that are going to be used, there is no defense to be played'...ah, ha, PDX is ahead of that game...been doing that for years...

Speaking of Orygun...Snooki's song of the day...'Leader of the Pack' by the Shangri-Las...good one, my good friend...did see them live back in the 60's out at the Salem Armory...'Give him a great big kiss'...was a line from what song of theirs?...I recall them singing that, and laughing...I was in the front row...well, standing...true dat...

Marsh has been coordinating a Cosmo trip for September....in hopes that the path is clear...to travel...by then...we have abandoned any idear of a Maui vacay for at least a year...

Who woulda thunk that a mask would be a fashion statement?...all the creativity that is now done to 'em...to make them not only functional, but attractive...go figure...sign of the times...

Finally, how many times have you heard mention of this?...'I have a gun'...'just in a case'...even heard one of the View gals say it...hmmm, what have we come to?...I guess you know...
