Cover This, Cover That

Part of the music world, exists due to some absolutely great songs...that people, groups, whatever, redo...this is called doing 'COVERS'...used to be, when we were going to gigs, to dance...there would be a band playing...that we would 'dance' to...and ALL of their set was covers...hot ones of the time period...I can't tell you how often I boogied to songs by CCR...ah, Credence Clearwater Revival...my form of dancing was usually a myriad of rolling me arms about...absolutely, no rhythm...I digress...

When the Beatles shot onto the scene...many of their first hits were just like that...covers...none better than 'Twist and Shout'...actually, they had 25+ songs, that were...covers...mostly rock songs that they did from the Americans...then, Lennon and McCartney wrote and sang their own...and the rest is history....

Many artists, did not write...but interpreted the songs that were already out there...and were outstanding...I think to Linda Rondstadt, James Taylor, Johnny Mathis...of course, the list is endless...they all did covers...and wonderfully...

This idea came up due to Snooki...who is doing a week of covers...who did it better?...Snooki's song of the week...'Rock Steady'...done by the Whispers...and Aretha Franklin...and Hall and Oates...and...well, you get the idear...who's version was better?...naw, not me...it's in the eye, er, ear of the beholder...what I like and what you like, will probably differ...and that's way cool...

Sara Evans just released an album of covers...from different genres...not just country...it is so well done, that YOU should give it a listen...and, she has decided to release it in vinyl, too...this, I will buy...

89*...that was the heat for yesterday!...easily our high for the year...and the beaches have been opened to actually lay on the sand...pictures I saw, showed many taking advantage of it...and so many, just playing in the ocean...welcome relief for so many reasons...there is a rumor that our pool will be available coming this Friday...fingers crossed...with this weather, the timing is...perfect...

With this protesting going on...it reminds us (The NFL) to when Colin Kaeparenick did his keeling during the anthem thing...how some were outraged...now, I reckon, MOST, will kneel...am curious to the reaction of some...do you think that some team will sign him?...

Somehow thru all this pandemic stuff...the KFam has stayed a bit relevant...no more so than Kylie...the young one...who continues to have surgery on herself...rumors abound that yet another face alteration has been botched...hmmm, maybe go to the show of the same name for 'treatment'...so much for 'quarantining'...right....

Is there or is there not, a 2nd 'stimulus' check coming?...I get confused trying to figure that all out...

With the 1st pick in the MLB 2020 draft, the San Diego Padres select __________?...fill in the blank...it is today...four more rounds tomorrow and that's it...I think that this just favors the rich teams...hmmm, just like the stock market...the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer...

Udee, oops, I mean Donny Jr, went on yet another hunting trip...to Mongolia...on the USA dime...costing a mere $75 grand...that you and I paid for...that get you fired up?...

You heard of Vice golf balls?...they were experimental not that long ago...one could get them for a very affordable rate...hold the phone...NOW...they have passed inspection and are desired...and up goes the price....$34.99 a dozen...here we go...does any pro use 'em?...
