The Way It Was

One of them pixel channels, was replaying some old MLB All Star games...I was mildly interested in the '85 fray...as the announcer was doing his thang, and boom boxing the celebrated players...something got me goosed up...in the National League, there were, gulp, FIVE starters from the...Padres...ah, the San Diego Padres!!!...ie, the manager of the team...of course, it had the legend, Tony Gwynn in it...now, this was back when I did not give a rusty hoot about them, but still...the history is there...in the present, we get one all star, as per every team in the league...wouldn't it be nice to get back to the glory years?...that is, when all this starts back up...

Continued  'The Last Dance'...only got thru a bit of the first part of last night's show...it is getting a bit heavy on Michael, er, Jordan...true, he be the star, but a team...takes more than just one...duh...the country does go overboard on making superior athletes bigger than they actually are...'role models?'...perhaps...this is the agenda of the show last eve...showing how big he actually got...and is, apparently, still...don't get me wrong, he was an unbelievable hoopster...

Tried...and let that be a relaxed sigh, too...tried...to go to Costco yesterday...oh my... the line was clear around the building!...to get in!...we, took a look at each other, and said 'nope'...of we scurried to our hidden gem of a super...not telling you where...in and out...plenty of food and whatnots...of course, not as cheap as Costco...but, no line...no waiting...

This is like what we are doing...watching some shows that maybe, just maybe, we wouldn't normally...the Property Brothers...as they redo a house in like 5 or 6 weeks...for a 'celebrity'...it's good fun...last night was a casa in Minneapolis, Minnnneessooota...luv to see the transformation...replacing the insulation was way cool, er warm...but the little thing that caught me eye?...they added a couple of turntables to the remodel...as the occupant was into vinyl LP's...visited a vintage vinyl shop in that city...that was off the charts, rad...makes me want to go there...yea, when this is all lifted...

I have mentioned this before...but, it's worth going back to...playing music while you cook...turn off the tele, well, mute whatever is on...pick out some groovy tunes...and get jiggy while you fry up some eggs...

Snooki's song of the day...and how apropos...'We Gotta Get Out Of This Place' by the Animals...the World wants to do just that...right?...the Animals were led by Eric Burdon...who still sings at the 'British Revivals'...well, did...their biggest hit was 'House of the Rising Sun'...right?...good tunes, nonetheless...

Nothing more repulsive to moi, than watching big Orange on the tele...ranting and raving...spewing hatred to everyone and...blaming everyone ELSE for what is going on...I digress...

What's on the menu for today?...I mean, what other item of interest is there?...we talk early in the day, about what it is...plan for the dinner...plot the timing...we eat at 5...sharp...yea, so it is going to be a pot roast...cooked in our Le Creuset...that is the spelling, right?...takes 3 hours, at 310*... check at 2...might need to add broth...fall apart goodness...with taters...salad...voila!....
