This may be the theme of the day....but, last nite in the 8 o'clock celebration of the solidarity...it seemed like there were more participants than ever...it went on for 5 minutes or so...really, heartwarming...from our outside speaker, we played 'Stand By Me' at full volume...not sure if the masses could hear it, to give you an idea about the noise factor...the song was made famous by Ben E King...you might recall it, as the title for a flick of the same name...terrific...the version I was playing, was by John Lennon....you know, that would be a good movie to see again...
The celebration of solidarity...has your community begun it?...as we all are shuttered at home...we need to show our appreciation for the people that fight this horrific virus, all the time...I know, it's not much, but is a way to show we are out there...pardon moi, if I am repetitive about this...but I think it is important...
The weather was great yesterday down here...south SoCal, in case you are unaware...75*...and we took a 'legal bike ride'...and rode to an area, where there are benches were you could sit and gander at the bay....just south of the airport...a destination spot for the workout...alas, the sheriff has deemed that the benches are off limits!...give us all a break...so people, were sitting in the grass, right by them...hmmm, off we went back home...did find a bench along the way that we could sit a bit, and drink some agua...oh no, I didn't have my phone in me pocket!...did I lose it along the way?...you ever have that sinking feeling?...you DO know what happens if you lose it...chaos...2nd reason for a disappointing ride...anyhoo, got home...lickety brindle...and there it was on the bed!...
Some sports replays...ah, why isn't that 'replaies?'...I will never figure this language out...ESPN had the '10 NBA finals game 7 on...Celts at Lakers...gosh, both teams played terribly...ie, Kobe...offensively...as LA won...yet, is was fun to watch...and then, a bit later, on the Pac 12 Network...BTW, a must channel if you don't have it...the ladies USA national team versus the lady Ducks of this season...that started the year off right, with the 1st victory over a USA team since '99!...yes, it was rad...and a sign for them...
We live in a corner unit of this condo...where we have windows, floor to ceiling everywhere...for those who have visited, you KNOW what I am saying...but, with all the rain we have had...drat...them windows needed a cleaning...and that is what we did...yesterday...and they shine now...the view is wonderful, kids...well worth the effort...definitely a 2 person job...
22 MILLION Americans filed for unemployment in the past 4 weeks...of this shut down...listen, it is all temporary...at least I hope it is...staggering number...
Snooki's song of the day...hey, I have two things here...one is the song...'Havana Daydreamin' by Jimmy Buffet...which reminds me more of the little restaurant on the Lahaina harbor...'Cheeseburgers in Paradise'...a place that we long to go to...again...the 2nd, is that Snookies got their 'stimulus check' yesterday...ah, he gets a refund that goes directly into his checking account...I can't recall that last refund we have received...so, until then, we wait for the actual check itself, adorned by the name of Donny...here we have, a tongue in cheek version...remember, you forever Trumpites, this is but a cartoon version, by the Horse, of course...
