Wack Weather

Not sure how one describes this Wack Weather!...the cold snap in of all places, SoCal...the mountains got hit hard with...drum roll please...SNOW!...and lots of it...just 45 minutes away from us in Julian, 8 inches...30 minutes north of us in Ramona, thick stuff on the ground...2,300 feet of elevation...most people have no idea how much topography we have here...

The mountains ranges stretching far north...got their fair share, too...enough to close down the I-5 at the Grapevine, north of LaLa...the artery to the rest of the state...shoved all that traffic, or lots of it...over to the beach roads...the 101...ah, right thru Santa Barbara...where the kids were trekking back home...with the gads of cars, semis', and whatever...trying to get north...took like 12 hours to get home...in a normal 3 1/2 to 4 hour ride...gosh...

The Blazers were making the comeback of comebacks...down 23 to the home team, the Utah Jazz (yea right, Jazz in Salt Lake City?)...closing due to outstanding shooting by their dynamic duo of Lillard and McCollum...unfortunately, they shared the rock with Melo...sorry, but it's true...he clanked it...they lost...but, get this...they are hedging on the high screens!...by design or accident?...ha ha...

A 'bowl' game...Eastern Michigan and Pitt...good lord, why?...teams that are like 6-6...or 7-5...why?...I can't tell ya the name of these multitude of 'bowl' games...anyhoo...the game was on it's last legs...the final minute...and the QB from EMU LOST IT!...I mean he went bonkers...punched one dude, and then punched another...this time the ref got in the way, and down he went...yea, he gone...as well as the game...haven't seen this before...at least they now have a name for it, 'The Punch Bowl'...

For some odd crazy reason there are those out there in the Facebook world, that want to show their devotion to Donny...put their mug on a sign that says Trump 2020...oh my...wait, kids, wait...you have plenty of time to show your allegiance...but now?...too early...unless you must...

I'm being cynical on this...but for the many of youse out there in the pixels land...who watch the miracle work of Dr Phil...and are believers...why doesn't he do the 'what happened after the therapy' shows?...give us proof of his wisdom...

Teerump has raised the age to buy cigarettes to 21...who says he doesn't get things done?...

5 pm the Holiday Bowl out at the Q...USC and Iowa...there are a lot of Trojans roaming the Gaslamp...maybe I can find the dude that tried to duke it out with Snooki...teach him a thing or two from down here...

Following that game, on the tele, is the weird matchup of the entire Air Force and the pass happy Mike Leach's Cougs of WSU...air traffic tower to the ground control...run vs pass...who ya got?...

I am also an extreme skeptic...but, those beautiful helicopter rides over the state of Hawaii...seem to go down more often than they let on....did just that yesterday...I would rather watch the view via the pixels, then go up (down!) in those copters...7 people missing...

Back in the day...it was THE thing to call in to the local radio am station and dedicate a song to someone...and then wait for it to happen...hey, you can still do that on Cousin Brucie's Show on XM...anyhoo, I want to dedicate 'What A Wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong, to all my readers...

He is alive and kicking...

Top of the morning, friends...as we embark on a shortish Cosmo trip (6+ hours) up north to see the kids. ..we try to see them every month or two....whatever works for us, and them...school has just started for them...and Cy has both football and soccer, he is playing...Cas, at 3, is still a wannabe... The distancing of trump with the public, was a bit weird, right?. ..he emerged and was talking the same...his appearance was a bit shaggy...he must have had the flu, or, well, Covid, or something...but, he is NOT DEAD....and still up to his shenanigans...same old...anything to bring up, to divert the people from hearing about the Epstein Files ...he unabashedly, called the whole thing a 'Democratic Hoax'... Hmmm...as 6 of the Survivors of it...(the Epstein Case) ...were talking, not only to the House....but, to the public, yesterday...as MTG was front and center with it...which, too, was odd...a fallout from trump?...or, a plant within the group?...no, trump, it is not a hoax.....

Hometown Baseball

You might think back to all the rivalries you have witnessed over the years...in high school, college, ah, well, team sports...shoot, could be choirs, math contests, and the like...BUT...the thrill of it all, is what I am talking about...I could name a hundred such things...that I recall...however, right now...there is one brewing in the Gaslamp...the Friars are hosting the Bums...believe it or not, this is new...you see, the Padres have been borderline pathetic for many seasons...not that they haven't had good ones...but, consistency has not been a virtue...things have changed...and the squad has deepened... The Bums have long had their nemesis, and or rivalry cat, as the San Francisco Giants...no mas...it is the Friars...the team that knocked them outta the playoffs last year...and here they come, to make avenge...3 games this weekend over at Petco...they have been playing super lately...really really super...the Pads?...hit and miss...my guess, is that the juices will flow for b...
